Thank you for your cleanup and syntax changes. However the comment:
"Imagery Example" section that was just added, while it is interesting, it is unreferenced and badly edited with many format errors. Not suitable for the encyclopedia page.)
is quaint and perhaps misdirected? The example I added is directly relevant to the discussion of Li Bai's imagery which is the subject of the section. Also, a reader who follows the link would find the image of the 17th century page, and the poem and annotations were printed on that page. The link is therefore the reference. Many would consider that examples illustrating the subject matter add significantly to an article. If someone added relevant examples to my articles, I would be most grateful. It would save me work and not increase it unnecessarily.
I readily admit to any format errors. Also I appreciate any and all constructive and substantive suggestions and comments.
Cheers,

I appreciate you taking the time to try and lend a helping hand by replacing an "old" image with a "newer" one, but the older image illustrates the subtopic better than the new one, and is of a higher quality. It's a typographical convention that when you have "creatures" in photos, they should look "into the page", i.e. the left-facing ones are at the right side of the page and vice versa
The Vietnamese turtles are older than the one at the Marco Polo Bridge, so chronologically it makes sense to have them earlier in the article
Both images were the same size, thanks to the "File: .... |thumb|upright" modifier used in both.

Hello there.
Whilst its really nice you are improving the museum and art galleries templates I created. I noticed you also unilaterally make some changes which I do not agree with. Using WP:AGF as a guide. The templates are based on categories already in place. It would be nice if you have any issue is to put it up on the relevant article or template page and discuss, reach WP:CON rather than deciding to add your POV to it. Thank you. Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, is currently undergoing a two-month trial scheduled to end 15 August 2010.
Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under pending changes. Pending changes is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial. The list of articles with pending changes awaiting review is located at Special:OldReviewedPages.
When reviewing, edits should be accepted if they are not obvious vandalism or BLP violations, and not clearly problematic in light of the reason given for protection (see Wikipedia:Reviewing process). More detailed documentation and guidelines can be found here.
If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. Hi, Sevilledade. I see that in April you removed Guangzhou from the table in the Megacity article because you disagreed with the given source. Please remember that we must follow the verifiability and no original research policies—we cannot just decide to omit an entry from the table like this. There is a reason i use the word Chinese muslims instead of hui, beucase during the Republican period in china (1911-1949), the word "Hui" applied to all muslims in China, (see Five Races Under One Union, on the Hui people article it is referenced that Salars were called Sala "Hui", and Uyghurs were called Chantou "Hui") including people Chinese muslims fought against, such Uyghurs and Kirghizes during Battle of Kashgar (1934), only after 1949 were only chinese speaking muslims exclusively refered to as Hui, Europeans called them "Dungans", the reason i don't use that term is because now it refers only to hui in central asia, not in china, i don't want to confuse people, many sources describe Hui as Chinese Muslims
you are causing only more confusion for people if you change every single instance of Chinese muslim from Republic of China period (1911-1949) to Hui.Дунгане (talk) 03:29, 10 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]__DTELLIPSISBUTTON__
-->

Hi Sevilledade,
thx for opening an article about the theme. Already corrected my own writing, for it was misunderstanding what happened with the museum the last years. There has been a Press release in 2006, see
I have reverted your move of that page considering the near-total conformity with WP:NC-ZH regarding county-level divisions. Also, consider that Yangshuo County, Guangxi is not at the title "Yangshuo", even though, like Pingyao County, it is well-known in China and even to the world. –HXL's RoundtableandRecord15:38, 21 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]__DTELLIPSISBUTTON__
-->

Hello again! I've put a fuller explanation of Saussy's point on the Dream of the Red Chamber talk page. I agree that the phrase, while true, needed elucidation, since in fact it was not the same as saying that Hu Shi simply established "who" the author was. Saussy's point is that in addition, Hu established the concept of authorship itself. Hope this helps. Re. this,[9] do you have evidence that the early source was Mandarin rather than Cantonese? (I reverted you to be safe, though it's quite possible that some people acquired the word from Peking rather than Macao or Canton, if we can source it.) If we're just going by sound, we could just as easily argue for Japanese. Also, if there was borrowing from both Cantonese and Mandarin, then that's a third strand, and IMO should be counted separately from the Portuguese at Macao. (Though granted that may cause problems with trying to be consistent with the Sinospheric languages.) — kwami (talk) 12:50, 5 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]__DTELLIPSISBUTTON__
["c-Kwamikagami-2012-01-06T03:37:00.000Z-Kwamikagami-2012-01-05T12:50:00.000Z
kwami"}}-->
Ah, thanks. The etymological dict. entry is useful. I see that it is the Persian chai strand that comes from Mandarin; AFAICT, the other cha words are still from Cantonese. That makes them easy to keep straight. — kwami (talk) 03:37, 6 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]__DTELLIPSISBUTTON__
-->
In answer to your query, some editors prefer to place one sentence per line in the source markup, because it yields smaller diffs that are easier to review when others make changes.
This practice produces exactly the same visible output as connecting the sentences with spaces, so it's not something that needs to be "fixed". Hi. When you recently edited Tieguanyin, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page The National (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

I undid your passage from Encyclopaedia because it contains assertions that we are not sure of. For example this phrase "plucked stringed instruments, both indigenous and imported". There are at least 3 theories about ancient pipas - 1) they are all foreign, but with some minor modifications, 2) the earliest ones are Chinese, the later ones foreign, 3) the earliest ones are Chinese, the later ones are hybrid of Chinese and foreign instrument, and then there are variations of these theories, resulting in even many more theories. If theory 1 is true, then there isn't an actual indigenous pipa, so that Britannica statement would be false.
The statement from Liu Xi about the foreign nature of pipa is especially important in that respect because it is from late Han Dynasty (the other Han Dynasty source say origin unknown). What that tells us is that the Han Dynasty pipa has a foreign origin according to the earliest sources. The problem came with the later sources from the Jin Dynasty - they say early pipa may have a Chinese origin, and that is what caused a lot of confusion in interpretation of its history. The Fu Xuan one is especially dubious, given that there are assertions in there which are most likely to be untrue (for example, it says pipa was introduced from China to places outside China, we can say this is unlikely because such lute instruments existed outside China for a thousand years before it appeared in China.) Nevertheless, many modern Chinese people would make a case for Chinese origin for pipa based on these Jin dynasty sources. It is too much to go into detail in this article about the various theories or which one has more merit, I don't want to make the article excessive long going into tedious academic analysis of the various issues, so I chose the language that would avoid statement which could possibly be untrue.
There are even more problems with the different pipas - Qin pipa, Qinhanzi, Han pipa (some Chinese sources would tell you these are all the same, when ancient texts suggest otherwise), hu pipa, bent-neck pipa, Kuchean pipa (some Chinese sources would again tell you they are all the same, but I have my doubt, see for example that pipa player picture - that pipa held by the player has 4 strings but without a bent-neck. BTW that picture is too small which made it unpleasant to look at and see clearly, which is why I prefer the bigger one). These problems are not worth getting into in an article like this, it'll just confuse people. This article as it is is probably more accurate in some respect than the Encyclopaedia Britannica one. There are however a number of other sentences which other people have entered but which I haven't checked, so they might have inaccurate information there. Dear Sevilledade,
Currently, I am trying to publish an article about Radisson Blu Hotel Pudong, but failed due to the Wikipedia COI policy.
I was Looking through the edit history of Fairmont Peace Hotel Shanghai.
Since you have been a major editor of the Fairmont Peace Hotel page, may I ask you to give me some advise as to how I can get my page published? I tried but unfortunately, it was "tagged for speedily deletetion" and shortly after, deleted.
This hotel is of major importance with respect to contemporary Chinese, Taiwanese and Korean Art. It also became the new spot for Shanghainese graffiti artists, after the graffiti wall in Morganshan Lu had been demolished.
I hope you can help me to publish it,
Kind regards,

The fact was ... that 16-year-old Chinese swimmer Ye Shiwen won two gold medals and broke two records at the 2012 Olympics? You are welcome to check how many hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, quick check) and it will be added to DYKSTATS if it got over 5,000. Thanks for the reply and sorry for the confusion. As for the image description on commons, if I upload an artwork of which I only know a period and not an exact date, I usually add "before end-year-of-period" in order to make clear that it is old (for copyright purposes). So the only meaning of "Southern Song Dynasty, before 1279" is that is is dated to the Southern Song Dynasty and that the Southern Song ended in 1279. The Japanese sources I found such as the official database of National Treasures or the museum's website say that it is Southern Song (not Northern). Haven't found a reliable source for a century, so for the time being I will remove the century from the article. bamse (talk) 11:08, 5 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]__DTELLIPSISBUTTON__
-->

The Writer's Barnstar
I am an actual student at Peking University and, whether I'm in Europe or in Beijing, PKU is indeed widely known by both Europeans and Chinese people as the "Harvard of China". This is not an irrelevant comparison; it is a matter of fact, and one of Wikipedia's purposes is to record facts.
Furthermore, it is not advertisement but a fact that PKU is frequently (note the time adverbial here) ranked as the top Chinese university, although there are numerous rankings that do not consider PKU to be China's top university.
Have a look at Harvard university's wiki page and you will find many statements which, by your standards, are "peacock expressions" and "advertisements". Response to your edits on the Peking University article
Hello Sehenswurdigkeiten. First, if you look at the Harvard University page, it does not contain statement such as "Harvard is considered as the best university in the United States" (even if that is true in many circles based on rankings, just as Peking University is ranked by many as the best in China; however the Harvard University page only word it as "one of the most prestigious") nor does it contain statement such as "Harvard is considered as the Oxford of United States". A truly great university does not need to advertise or brand itself like that. In fact, if you look at many of the top universities articles here, such as University of Oxford, University of Cambridge, Stanford University, Princeton University, University of Toronto, ETH Zurich, etc... (the list goes on), none of them label themselves after other top universities, as the "Harvard of Canada", "Harvard of France", "Harvard of...", etc. I'm sure there are many articles on the internet that does do that, but it doesn't mean such information is appropriate for an encyclopedia article. Otherwise it would get wildly repetitive and non-creative (every top university becomes a "Harvard" of something).
Listen, there is no doubt that Peking University is among the crème de la crème of all the universities in China. However, there is definitely more elegant ways of conveying these information than the labels and shouting that it is the best. Insisting on calling it the "Harvard of China" just seems rather "sad", and may I say it, "insecure". Why "labeling" itself after another university from another country? Why not think of the university as simply "the Peking University of China". Let the name "Peking University" speak for itself.
Since you are a Peking University student, I'm sure you would want in the near future, students in other countries comparing their universities to the Peking University right? I highly doubt that would happen if the university is known as the "Harvard of China."--Sevilledade (talk) 16:29, 28 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]__DTELLIPSISBUTTON__
-->

I had changed the format of the section of "university rankings" on the articles of various Chinese and Taiwanese universities into point forms but the edits were all reversed by you with the reason of bad formatting. I'm not going to argue but I would like to know your reason or notion behind. My reason of editing is to make it more clear to read.
By the way, it seems that you are also concerning about the articles of Chinese higher education institutes, I would like to seek your help in improving them. I added back the results of some updated university rankings on the articles mentioned above and you can go and have a look on them.

Thanks again for your customary close reading at Bianwen. I will expand the point a little, maybe referencing Victor Mair on the Indian influences. Idema and Haft say "Bianwen" is used in two senses, one for all Tang tales found at Dunhuang, the other for Buddhist tales.
I will also expand the sentence at Jin Ping Mei. Probably the text should be "published" in the late Ming, but I will look at Plaks again to make sure that we have his point right.
But my immediate idea is to say that I've created Huaben, which you might also want to look over if you have time.
Cheers in any case ch (talk) 18:59, 30 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]__DTELLIPSISBUTTON__
-->
While I appreciate that you fixed a few errors in my edits, I certainly do not agree with you deleting most of my content from Peking University page.
There is nothing wrong with Peking University Shenzhen having a large presence on the Peking University page because
1. PKU Shenzhen is a highly specialized satellite campus of PKU and most people find PKU Shenzhen through PKU main campus website and wiki page .
2. The concept of a satellite school having a separate page and a presence on the parent institutions's wiki page is not new . Tsinghua University has a large section about it's department of Economics , Johns Hopkins University has a large section about its School of International Studies.PKU Shenzhen hence deserves a place in the PKU wiki page. Just because "you feel" that the section need not be there does not mean you will delete it outright.
I agree that PKU Shenzhen had a large section of PKU page but that is because PKU page itself is less updates and does not do justice to the 100 year old Peking University. I suggest you start expanding the Peking University page itself .
Please refrain from deleting anything in the future unless it is outright wrong . — Preceding unsigned comment added by Sunny7338 (talk • contribs) 07:26, 10 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]__DTELLIPSISBUTTON__
-->

On this page, I have added the widely accepted dates. Hey, I'm trying to translate the content on the Chinese page into English. Can you please review it since I'm having some difficulties with some of the phrases. Also, I'm new to wikipedia, I'm not sure about the style.
Idea/Preparation
The project started from Diao Yinan's idea to film a detective story. He stated his purpose as follow, “in many [astonishing] criminal cases happening in China nowadays, I saw 斑斓奇异的色彩 in the seemingly ordinary beings”. Diao spent eight years in total to write the screenplay; the final one being used is already the third draft. The first draft was completed in 2005, where it was then an cold color art film. But after talking to his cooperators who were more concerned about the box office, he decided to make it warmer. Out of commercial consideration, the film was finally made in to a detective film noir.
>astonishing is too strong, the original text mains "cases that are both clever and surprising"
>I don't know what is 斑斓奇异的色彩 in English; it means "full of quirky and splendid color", but it sounds weird in English — Preceding unsigned comment added by Bcti22 (talk • contribs) 06:59, 16 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]__DTELLIPSISBUTTON__
-->

Hi Sevilledade,
In a recent edit summary, you wrote: "I can leave [the characters/pinyin] on there, but the purpose of that template is to put all the Chinese related stuff in there".
Is it really? To put "all" the Chinese-related stuff there? I'm not so sure. There's a sentence in the Chinese MoS regarding this: "[using an infobox] removes the characters, romanization and pronunciations from the opening sentence..." That sentence dates way back to 2007, and seems to never have been addressed since. It is, I think, a mistake. The purpose of the Chinese infobox is to provide a box with more extensive linguistic information on the title of the article, such as dialect and Simp/Trad difference data. I see no reason why having at least the basic characters and, if necessary, some pinyin in the lead would present a problem, as quite a number of Chinese-related FAs do this (see, for example, Zhang Heng). At some point this will probably need to be discussed on the MOS:CHINESE talk page. For now, would you be ok with holding off on making these en masse edit summary-less changes? Thanks.
