Just a question... if Kiva's and IXA's names are puns on Japanese words (from "kiba" and "ikusa"), would this be the same for Saga (and Sagark)? I was trying to figure out what his name is from but I couldn't quite figure it out, and I thought you may know.

Also, Rey and Arc's names are from Japanese words also (from "rei" (冷 cold) and "aku" (悪 evil) rspectively) so do you think it's okay for me to make those edits for them? --Burai (talk) 11:10, 1 November 2008 (UTC)__DTREPLYBUTTONSCONTENT__-->__DTELLIPSISBUTTON__
["c-Burai-2008-11-02T09:16:00.000Z-Burai-2008-11-01T11:10:00.000Z"]}}-->

No one knows where "saga" comes from. I can't find any verbs other than "to search" or sagasu that has anything close.—Ryūlóng (竜龙) 23:48, 1 November 2008 (UTC)
Hmm... well, I think "sagaku" (差額 balance/difference) is close enough as it's also from Sagark's name but I don't even know if that word connects with Saga's character. And for Rey and Arc, I'll probably not add those edits about their names in case anybody tells me off for "original research" which is against Wikipedia's netiquette. --Burai (talk) 09:16, 2 November 2008 (UTC)__DTREPLYBUTTONSCONTENT__-->__DTELLIPSISBUTTON__
["c-Moocowsrule-2008-11-13T04:23:00.000Z-Burai-2008-11-02T09:16:00.000Z"]}}-->
I found a blog that lists "saga" as "nature" or "characteristic" and added it to the article. Also, it seems that ja.wiki has "cleric" for Ixa's motif, and I've changed it, as well. Also, the only person likely to bug you about original research for such a minor thing would be Mythdon.—Ryūlóng (竜龙) 10:28, 2 November 2008 (UTC)
I agree with Burai, I think this "Sagark" person's name uses the Kanji for "balance" "差額". Of course we'd need an official source. Is this the "Saga" you were talking about? "性". New York City Meetup

Next: Sunday November 16th, Columbia University area
Last: 6/01/2008
This box: view talk edit

In the afternoon, we will hold a session dedicated to meta:Wikimedia New York City activities, finalize and approve bylaws, interact with representatives from the Software Freedom Law Center, and hold salon-style group discussions on Wikipedia and the other Wikimedia projects (see the June meeting's minutes and the September meeting's minutes).

We'll also review our recent Wikis Take Manhattan event, and make preparations for our exciting successor Wikipedia Loves Art! bonanza, being planned with the Brooklyn Museum for February.

In the evening, we'll share dinner and chat at a local restaurant, and (weather permitting) hold a late-night astronomy event at Columbia's telescopes.

You can add or remove your name from the New York City Meetups invite list at Wikipedia:Meetup/NYC/Invite list.

To keep up-to-date on local events, you can also join our mailing list.

I know we've reached disagreements regarding Fuuma no Kojirou, but I hope you don't have bad feelings about me... Plus, your name should be read as "Iselong" or "Tatsulong", because when (at least in Japanese) Kanji are combined usually the Chinese reading is used, rather than the Japanese reading. I guess it is finalized... "Ryū" may be more recognizable than "Tatsu", but there's some old rule that says that in Kanji compounds (like names), we use the Chinese reading, but I think it's more of a choice for Japanese+Chinese, considering in Japan most names were in Japanese and not Chinese... These people are "the King" and "the Queen" of this particular organization. Do they refer to each other as "King" and "Bishop"? Or do we simply know who they are by their tattoo? The fact that Maya, Mio, and Taiga have given names dictates that these are titles instead of names.—Ryūlóng (竜龙) 05:36, 10 November 2008 (UTC)
The way I see it, they are refered as "King" and "Queen" as BOTH names and titles, with King, Rook, and Bishop refered by just name. But as I mentioned, not all titles need a "the" before it. I've reverted one of your edits on The Amazing Race 13 because you put in the wrong currency symbol. Rp, which you inserted as the symbol for the Indian rupee, is actually the symbol for the Indonesian rupiah. The correct symbol for the rupee is Rs. You can read the articles about the two currencies see my point. I'm sorry if I have to do this, but I just wanted to point this out to you. - 上村七美 (Nanami-chan) | talkback | contribs 16:59, 10 November 2008 (UTC)__DTREPLYBUTTONSCONTENT__-->__DTELLIPSISBUTTON__
c-Nanami_Kamimura-2008-11-10T16:59:00.000Z-Reverted_edit_on_The_Amazing_Race_13_(Currency_symbol_confusion)
c-Nanami_Kamimura-2008-11-11T03:46:00.000Z-Nanami_Kamimura-2008-11-10T16:59:00.000Z
上村七美 (Nanami-chan)"}}-->

Hmm. The Rupee article uses that symbol, though.—Ryūlóng (竜龙) 22:07, 10 November 2008 (UTC)
You're actually talking about the general rupee article. But since leg 6 took place in India, the currency in question is the Indian rupee, and that currency uses Rs, not Rp. - 上村七美 (Nanami-chan) | talkback | contribs 03:46, 11 November 2008 (UTC)__DTREPLYBUTTONSCONTENT__-->__DTELLIPSISBUTTON__
["c-Nanami_Kamimura-2008-11-11T06:21:00.000Z-Nanami_Kamimura-2008-11-11T03:46:00.000Z
上村七美 (Nanami-chan)"}}-->
At Indian rupee they have "The most commonly used symbols for the rupee are Rs, ₨ and रू."—Ryūlóng (竜龙) 06:00, 11 November 2008 (UTC)
At least, that what the article said, but Rs seems to be preferred above everything else. So it'll be better to retain the Rs symbol. I see more of Rs being used to symbolize the Indian rupee than Rp because of me watching several Indian shows. Also, everyone else, especially Indonesians, might see "Rp" as the rupiah. I'm only commenting here because of Net issues, and I'm too lazy to log back on mIRC before it's fixed. Anyways, that Go=onger edit by IP 208.201.131.76, changing Sanctity to Seriousness in the title of episode 38? I know that user, and I also know that she's fluent in Japanese, so I tend to trust her judgment. I'm going to revert it back to her edit, but if you seriously have an issue with that translation, let me know why before you go ahead and change it back. On second thought, perhaps it would've been better to keep it blocked since the few cases where someone edits legitimately may not outweigh the number of open proxies. I posted without thinking when I saw the deletion review was up, when in actual fact, it looks like you have not been given quite sufficient time to respond before requesting the review. I apologise if I have acted discourteously, and did not intend to be so hasty. My comments still stand, but I am sorry if I have acted poorly in the process. From your closing summary, it could have been read that you were planning to be uncoöperative in resolving this without a review process, so I am sorry if I have been confused and caused offence. —Kan8eDie (talk) 01:31, 20 November 2008 (UTC)__DTREPLYBUTTONSCONTENT__-->__DTELLIPSISBUTTON__
-->

I can take Honōshū, but "Flame-People"'s not just the right term for Samurai World, "Honoshu" actually plays on "Engine" (En-Jin/Flame-People). No. It does not work at all because of how the words changed.—Ryūlóng (竜龙) 05:10, 28 November 2008 (UTC)
How so, it's clear the group is called Honoshu, it's no different to real-life groups in Japan we partially translate like the Sanada Ten-Braves. To at to the name theme, Honoo is translated as "en" in Hira/Kata; Shuu is a bit iffy, but both it and Jin can be translated as "people". Just leave it translated. If there was a pun involved, it'd be evident in the reading. "Shuu" is a different kanji that is translated as people. And it doesn't make sense to have "Honoshu" at all.—Ryūlóng (竜龙) 06:02, 28 November 2008 (UTC)
It makes sense as many feudal japan groups like the Oniwaban was refered by their japanese names. Because it's a world that happens to be modeled after Feudal Japan, translations aren't that much needed.
