Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that you've added some links pointing to disambiguation pages. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

I notice from your contributions that while I was, once again, taking a break from editing rock climbing related articles, neither were you. As soon as I start editing one rock climbing article (rock climbing) you miraculously return to editing. I'll assume good faith that it's simply a coincidence. However, there are hundreds or thousands of articles on climbing. Is there any way you could allow me to edit one of them without you hounding me? If you wish to edit collaboratively, I'm okay with that. But all you seem to do is tell me I'm wrong without offering any constructive criticism. I don't appreciate that. -Nathan Johnson (talk) 22:38, 2 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]__DTELLIPSISBUTTON__{"threadItem":{"timestamp":"2013-06-02T22:38:00.000Z","author":"Nathan Johnson","type":"comment","level":1,"id":"c-Nathan_Johnson-2013-06-02T22:38:00.000Z-Your_activity","replies":[]}}-->

@Jackmcbarn: Hi, very nice, thanks. I have only a question: let's say I want to use a bot for fixing a specific template inside this category. I have for example the template XYZ and a related category called "Articles using template XYZ". Can I intersect (with catscan) "Category:Pages using duplicate arguments in template calls" with "Category:Articles using template XYZ" ? In this way I could get the specific list of pages for the bot to work on. --Rotpunkt (talk) 09:24, 17 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]__DTELLIPSISBUTTON__{"threadItem":{"timestamp":"2014-10-17T09:24:00.000Z","author":"Rotpunkt","type":"comment","level":2,"id":"c-Rotpunkt-2014-10-17T09:24:00.000Z-Jackmcbarn-2014-10-17T04:00:00.000Z","replies":["c-Jackmcbarn-2014-10-17T11:58:00.000Z-Rotpunkt-2014-10-17T09:24:00.000Z"]}}-->
I don't see much of a point to "Category:Articles using template XYZ" since you could just look at WhatLinksHere transclusions for the template instead of it, but yes, it should work. Jackmcbarn (talk) 11:58, 17 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]__DTELLIPSISBUTTON__{"threadItem":{"timestamp":"2014-10-17T11:58:00.000Z","author":"Jackmcbarn","type":"comment","level":3,"id":"c-Jackmcbarn-2014-10-17T11:58:00.000Z-Rotpunkt-2014-10-17T09:24:00.000Z","replies":["c-Rotpunkt-2014-10-17T12:24:00.000Z-Jackmcbarn-2014-10-17T11:58:00.000Z"]}}-->
@Jackmcbarn: Ok thanks. Then, how can I get the intersection between WhatLinksHere and "Category:Pages using duplicate arguments in template calls"? Let's say "Category:Pages using duplicate arguments in template calls" will contain 300.000 pages and template WhatLinksHere shows that XYZ is used in 100.000 pages. How can I get the intersection? The intersection may be only of 1000 pages and I would like to run the bot only on those 1000 pages. In other words: it would be important to have a way to filter the category "Category:Pages using duplicate arguments in template calls" on a per-template basis. --Rotpunkt (talk) 12:24, 17 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]__DTELLIPSISBUTTON__{"threadItem":{"timestamp":"2014-10-17T12:24:00.000Z","author":"Rotpunkt","type":"comment","level":4,"id":"c-Rotpunkt-2014-10-17T12:24:00.000Z-Jackmcbarn-2014-10-17T11:58:00.000Z","replies":["c-Jackmcbarn-2014-10-17T14:06:00.000Z-Rotpunkt-2014-10-17T12:24:00.000Z"]}}-->
This will do that:
select page_namespace,page_title from categorylinks
inner join templatelinks on(cl_from=tl_from)
inner join page on(cl_from=page_id)
where cl_to='Pages_using_duplicate_arguments_in_template_calls'
and tl_namespace=10 and tl_title='XYZ';
Note that this will yield false positives, since just because a page has a duplicate argument and uses a certain template doesn't necessarily mean that the duplicate argument came from that template. @Jackmcbarn: Thanks a lot. I thought I would not be able to use the db with tracking categories. About: << a page has a duplicate argument and uses a certain template doesn't necessarily mean that the duplicate argument came from that template >>, right, my fault. --Rotpunkt (talk) 14:16, 17 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]__DTELLIPSISBUTTON__{"threadItem":{"timestamp":"2014-10-17T14:16:00.000Z","author":"Rotpunkt","type":"comment","level":6,"id":"c-Rotpunkt-2014-10-17T14:16:00.000Z-Jackmcbarn-2014-10-17T14:06:00.000Z","replies":[]}}-->

I'm afraid there's no way to do that currently. The code in the Disambiguator extension doesn't "follow redirects", and I'm not sure if it's possible to make it do that without unacceptably degrading performance. (Or it might be possible; this is not my area of expertise, I wanted this feature myself badly enough to figure out how to create the patch you linked, but don't know much apart from that.) Filing a task in Phabricator about this is probably not a bad idea. :) Matma Rex talk 21:49, 28 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]__DTELLIPSISBUTTON__{"threadItem":{"timestamp":"2015-01-28T21:49:00.000Z","author":"Matma Rex","type":"comment","level":1,"id":"c-Matma_Rex-2015-01-28T21:49:00.000Z-re:_Redirection_to_disambiguation_page","replies":[]}}-->
