Hi!
I've been asked by one of Wikis owners to connect with you regarding the consistent and somewhat perverse tampering with the Bidhu Bhusan Das page. This is unfortunate and uncalled for.
Odialegend seems to have created an account with the sole purpose of messing around with the wikipages of two of India's respected and beloved teachers.
This person is avowedly of Odia origin (and a legend! Wow!) - and, if I might give you an insight into the Odia character, Odias delight in trashing their own, pretending they don't exist, or mutilating the achievements - and wikipages - of fellow Odias. They carry this dubious distinction across India, although there are a few notable exceptions.
This person alludes to Professor Bidhu Bhusan Das as "Sir", and, time and again, s/he deletes the names of the roster of absolute titans that Das studied with. If you studied with Niels Bohr, Robert Oppenheimer and Einstein, why would you delete the latter two? A distinguished professor at Yale almost swooned with delight when she read this roster of names of Das's teachers. Most crucial it is to know these names. These are biographical details which are most pertinent. What is achieved by deleting them? It seems as if Odialegend wants to wish them away! Odialegend mistakenly states that the only professor they were sure of that Das studied with is JRR Tolkien! Really? When? How? Professor Das's vita, together with the names of all his revered teachers mentioned on the page, is available in the following publication:
Mohanty, Gopinath. Amrutara Santana: The Dynasty of The Immortals. Translated by Bidhu Bhusan Das, Prabhat Nalini Das and Oopali Operajita. New Delhi: Sahitya Akademi, 2016. ISBN 978-81-260-4746-8
The central Sahitya Akademi is India's national academy of letters.
Odialegend is yet again on pretty thin territory because s/he obviously does not know that Das's thesis supervisor at Christ Church, Oxford, was LH Myers, whose name they have seen fit to delete from a list of Das's teachers! Nice!
S/he is in obviously uncharted territory when they allude to the writing of statutes as a "clerical" job. A writing of statutes is pivotal to the establishment of a new university, and it is only an experienced professor AND administrator who can do this and is vested with the all-important mandate to do so. It is a blueprint for the university forever, in much the same manner as the constitution is to a nation. To be entrusted with the writing of statutes is an acknowledgement of someone's expertise in both fields. So, far from damning someone, it acknowledges their unique and respected ability in this domain. Without the all-important statutes, there would be no university!
Equally ludicrous and incomprehensible is Odialegend's deleting the entire paragraph on Bidhu Bhusan Das's children in the family section. S/he states that the page is about Das and not his children?! How weird is that? If family isn't comprised of children, then what is it comprised of? Odialiegend as family? This is where it begins to get seriously weird.
If Professor Bidhu Bhusan Das was known to Odialegend, isn't it a conflict of interest for him/her to be commenting on his teacher/boss? I did not know him personally, but know and have interacted with many of his distinguished students across the world. I also did not know Professor Prabhat Nalini Das personally, but have met, and continue to meet with, many of her students. Her detailed vita is available in the above volume too.
Odialegend's sole raison d'etre on Wikipedia seems to be to mutilate, annihilate and dismember the Bidhu Bhusan Das Wikipedia page. Kind of noble! That is exactly what somebody called Subhasis Panigrahi did a few months ago. I will say to them: Get a life!
Thank you for your time. @Rekha2019: sorry I didn't see this until now, but you wrote on a sub-talkpage of mine and I didn't get a ping. Unfortunately, what you discuss is not my area of expertise. Hopefully, you've connected with other editors who may be of assistance. By the way, your writing tone gives the impression that you are very agitated. Certainly, that's difficult. Perhaps taking some time away from Wikipedia would be calming. Thanks. If you can, try to source what you translate. A little flesh on the bone like Adradas with a new infobox and fully sourced makes a big difference. Hi, it's me again. I've been trying to find sources to expand the information about her Irish activism, and I haven't had much luck. I asked BrownHairedGirl earlier and other editors, but part of the reason it's complicated to find this information is the secrecy of the occupation itself. Clovermoss (talk) 01:35, 30 August 2019 (UTC) has given you a kitten! Kittens promote WikiLove and hopefully this one has made your day better. Spread the goodness of kittens by adding {{subst:Kitten}} to someone's talk page with a friendly message, or kittynap their kitten with {{subst:Kittynap}}
Wow, I only noticed the most recent edit, but you did more than one! I think "thanks" is a bit underwhelming, so here's a wikikitten. I hope you're not allergic to cats... If you are, I'll need to find a different way to show my appreciation!

I've been putting together an article on Emna Mizouni, the 2019 Wikimedian of the Year. As you must have met her in Stockholm, you might have something to add to the article. Maybe you could also help to publicize it more widely, e.g. through DYK, GLAM or Signpost.--Ipigott (talk) 12:09, 30 August 2019 (UTC)__DTREPLYBUTTONSCONTENT__-->__DTELLIPSISBUTTON__{"threadItem":{"timestamp":"2019-08-30T12:09:00.000Z","author":"Ipigott","type":"comment","level":1,"id":"c-Ipigott-2019-08-30T12:09:00.000Z-Emna_Mizouni","replies":["c-Rosiestep-2019-08-30T15:07:00.000Z-Ipigott-2019-08-30T12:09:00.000Z"]}}-->
Hi Ipigott. Thanks for creating this article. Emna is a very close friend of mine; we are joined at the hip. I've known her for many years, and we joined AffCom at the same time. To avoid a potential COI, I will avoid editing her article and that of the other WOTYs. The other WOTYs and I have been involved in promoting Emna's award all over social media and other media. I'm positive Emna's honor will be covered by the Signpost... doubt they'd drop the ball on this. As for DYK, the article seems to me to meet requirements, but as you may know, I have stayed away from DYK for years, so I'm not the best person to ask to nominate it. That said, you can expect me to keep cheering Emna on. She is amazing and I look forward to seeing everything she accomplishes this year. --Rosiestep (talk) 15:07, 30 August 2019 (UTC)__DTREPLYBUTTONSCONTENT__-->__DTELLIPSISBUTTON__{"threadItem":{"timestamp":"2019-08-30T15:07:00.000Z","author":"Rosiestep","type":"comment","level":2,"id":"c-Rosiestep-2019-08-30T15:07:00.000Z-Ipigott-2019-08-30T12:09:00.000Z","replies":["c-Ipigott-2019-08-30T17:44:00.000Z-Rosiestep-2019-08-30T15:07:00.000Z"]}}-->
I was pretty certain you knew her, Rosie, as she's been involved in many of the Wikimedia activities you have supported too. Despite coverage on the social media, she has not received the coverage she deserves in the world press. Perhaps after Signpost comes out in a day or two that will trigger more interest. I dropped out of DYK too for various reasons but it would be great if someone else could take it on.--Ipigott (talk) 17:44, 30 August 2019 (UTC)__DTREPLYBUTTONSCONTENT__-->__DTELLIPSISBUTTON__{"threadItem":{"timestamp":"2019-08-30T17:44:00.000Z","author":"Ipigott","type":"comment","level":3,"id":"c-Ipigott-2019-08-30T17:44:00.000Z-Rosiestep-2019-08-30T15:07:00.000Z","replies":["c-Rosiestep-2019-08-30T17:53:00.000Z-Ipigott-2019-08-30T17:44:00.000Z"]}}-->

Hallo Rosie, Don't forget that when you create a dab page like Porsanger (disambiguation) it needs a link from the basename article Porsanger so that folk can find it. I've fixed this. The dab page also needed a bit of tweaking - where there is a primary topic, that goes first with the other meanings below it. Thanks. (I'm working my way through the output of WIR-129, adding women to surname lists or creating redirects or hatnotes or dab page entries for their surnames. Out of about 50 I've looked at, only about 8 were already linked from their surnames. We need to get better at this!) This story just came to my attention today. A man from Anchorage, Alaska - originally from South Africa - was arrested after a woman walking through town found an SD card and looked at its contents. It showed the brutal murder of a woman. The suspect has been arrested after local police identified him from one of the videos. I strongly suspect that this man is a serial killer, and police will link him to other murders. This story is beginning to make national news. Here is the NYT link: (The New York Times) I'm not sure where this could be included on Wikipedia as an article. Too soon to tell... But I did add it to the Current Events page. Anyway, I thought you might want to follow the story. Hi there @Juneau Mike Interesting article, for sure!. I'm still traveling in Europe but when I do have free time for wiki, I have to stay focused on the Women Writers in Review project (99% of it is on Wikidata; it is part of my Visiting Scholar project at Northeastern Univ.) which I'll be presenting again at Wikidatacon next week. --Rosiestep (talk) 08:28, 17 October 2019 (UTC)__DTREPLYBUTTONSCONTENT__-->__DTELLIPSISBUTTON__{"threadItem":{"timestamp":"2019-10-17T08:28:00.000Z","author":"Rosiestep","type":"comment","level":2,"id":"c-Rosiestep-2019-10-17T08:28:00.000Z-Michaelh2001-2019-10-16T20:32:00.000Z","replies":[]}}-->

Beautifully presented slides. "Trans-Atlantic writing" is a new concept for me. I have not been able to find any clear definition of what it means. I would have thought it covered writers who had crossed the Altlantic but those you mention appear to have remained in their own countries: Maria Edgeworth, Mary Robinson, Lucy Aikin, Anna Barbauld and Anne Bannerman in Great Britain; Hannah Adams in America. I have nevertheless come across a work titled Transatlantic Romanticism: An Anthology of British, American, and Canadian Literature. So perhaps it just means from English-speaking countries on either side of the Atlantic? On the other hand, Transatlantic Translations appears to refer to Latin-America. It becomes even more confusing if you search for "Transatlantic literature". See also Journal of Transatlantic Studies. Maybe someone should write an article on Transatlantic writing.--Ipigott (talk) 12:03, 2 November 2019 (UTC)__DTREPLYBUTTONSCONTENT__-->__DTELLIPSISBUTTON__{"threadItem":{"timestamp":"2019-11-02T12:03:00.000Z","author":"Ipigott","type":"comment","level":2,"id":"c-Ipigott-2019-11-02T12:03:00.000Z-Rosiestep-2019-10-31T20:44:00.000Z","replies":["c-Rosiestep-2019-11-03T02:24:00.000Z-Ipigott-2019-11-02T12:03:00.000Z"]}}-->

I see quite a few of the presentations in Boston are highlighted "Bias". Make sure the gender bias is fully appreciated by the North American contributors. English speakers are not doing too well but the French Canadians and Mexicans should be given credit for their language versions. Have finally fixed the Hens' Teeth lede as prompted. Sorry it took so long. Also revised structure of page to be more in line, I hope, with preferred Wikipedia layout of info. Could not find a citation about Kate JasonSmith's award, apart from the quotation, although since I now know what it was for I'll be keeping an eye out for a published reference. Have been sidelined by other women deserving pages, so haven't gone looking for material on Kate's mother-the-war-hero.
However, I did manage to set up a page for another Kiwi war hero of the female persuasion--Pamela Pigeon. (I kid you not.) So I have obviously made a little progress in maneuvering through Wikipedia protocol.
Thanks again for your help.

Hello Capecoraler and nice to meet you. I see you created this: Draft:Eric P. Feichthaler. That's the page you should keep an eye on regarding the article in question vs. requesting that I do so as I'm pretty busy with other wiki responsibilities (online; offline) and IRL. Also, I avoid working on BLPs in general; men's BLPs in particular. You'll want to keep up with discussions on that draft page, and follow any instructions/suggestions that the reviewer(s) make. But yes, to your point, more notice is better as WMNYC, Women in Red, and other large f2f and/or online communities coordinate our calendars weeks in advance. --Rosiestep (talk) 03:08, 16 November 2019 (UTC)__DTREPLYBUTTONSCONTENT__-->__DTELLIPSISBUTTON__{"threadItem":{"timestamp":"2019-11-16T03:08:00.000Z","author":"Rosiestep","type":"comment","level":4,"id":"c-Rosiestep-2019-11-16T03:08:00.000Z-Ejgertz-2019-11-16T01:31:00.000Z","replies":[]}}-->
Sure; our new event operator Ejgertz got something wrong. Not to worry; setting up an editathon is a complicated business and Wikipedians seldom get anything right the first time and not often the second. For tomorrow, I committed last weekend to meet someone at Metropolitan Museum, so the overlapping events mean I'll leave early from 30th Street and arrive late at 81st Street. Knowing we have competent lecturers at The Met, I can miss the opening hour there. If the earlier event needs a lecturer, I can give it a go even though I wasn't very good on a previous try. Seldom get anything right the first time, y'know. I'm glad to see the event produced a handful of new articles. Next time round, we need to organize everything much earlier and far more systematically. As far as I can see there are at least half a dozen more biographies waiting to be transferred to Wikipedia. Some time ago, Rosie, I noticed that despite all the years we have been working on women writers and their works, the only real overviews we have at the moment are Women writers, which consists mainly of links to other articles, and Women's writing (literary category) in connection with literature studies. Compared to the general coverage of History of literature, which includes many detailed articles by period, our coverage of women's contribution to literature is pretty sketchy for anyone wishing to look into the matter. Given your recent work on transatlantic literature and your involvement with students, I was wondering whether you would be interested in extending existing articles and perhaps writing new ones on topics such as History of women in literature or History of women in Western literature. Maybe if you were to make a start, Megalibrarygirl, SusunW and I could help you along. We could also invite contributions from Women in Red and WikiProject Women writers. There's absolutely no rush to do this but perhaps you could fit something in to your tight schedule over the coming months. In any case, I would be interested to hear whether you agree that this is a gap we need to fill.--Ipigott (talk) 08:22, 9 December 2019 (UTC)__DTREPLYBUTTONSCONTENT__-->__DTELLIPSISBUTTON__{"threadItem":{"timestamp":"2019-12-09T08:22:00.000Z","author":"Ipigott","type":"comment","level":1,"id":"c-Ipigott-2019-12-09T08:22:00.000Z-Gap_in_our_coverage","replies":["c-Megalibrarygirl-2019-12-09T17:24:00.000Z-Ipigott-2019-12-09T08:22:00.000Z","c-Ipigott-2019-12-10T09:29:00.000Z-Ipigott-2019-12-09T08:22:00.000Z"]}}-->

@Ipigott, Megalibrarygirl, and SusunW: indeed, Wikipedia is sorely lacking in overview articles related to women in various fields, and writing in particular. Thank you kindly for suggesting it, Ian, but I don't see myself as the best writer to draft such an overview article. However, this might be an excellent fit for one or more women's lit classes, so I'm adding Jami (Wiki Ed), Educational Partnerships Director at the Wiki Education Foundation, to the conversation as she may be aware of an upcoming class in 2020 who would be suited for the challenge. That said, if SusunW is interested in getting a start on it, that would indeed work, too. Time To Spread A Little HappyHolidayCheer!!
I decorated a special kind of Christmastree in the spirit of the season.
What's especially nice about this digitized version: *it doesn't need water *won't catch fire *and batteries aren't required.
Have a very Merry Christmas – Happy Hanukkah‼️
and a prosperous New Year!!
🍸🎁 🎉
