Hi, could you look at my 3RR request on Will Beback and explain to me just why he has not violated 3RR by deleting my material etc. numerous times and disrupting this articles progress which I was working on with RJIII (see his talk page) in good faith? The Barnstar Brigade is a new program aimed at giving more very deserving yet unappreciated users barnstars. It will officially start on 2006-04-09, but signing up is encouraged before this date:
"Here in Wikipedia, there are hundreds of wikipedians whose work and efforts go un-appreciated. One occasionally comes across editors who have thousands of good edits, but because they may not get around as much as others, their contributions and hard work often go un-noticed. Sadly, these editors often leave the project. As Esperanzians, we can help to make people feel appreciated, be it by some kind words or the awarding of a Barnstar. A project the size of Wikipedia has thousands of editors, so there are plenty of people out there who deserve recognition, one just has to find them. The object of this program is not to flood editors with Barnstars, but to seek out people who deserve them, and make them feel appreciated."
The Stress alertsprogram aims at identifying users who are stressed, alerting the community of thier stress and works in tandem with the Stressbusters at trying to identify causes of stress and eliminating them.
Information
Welcome to the second issue of the new format Esperanza Newsletter - we hope you still like it! This week, it was delivered diligently by our new dogsbody. MiszaBot (run by Misza13): any execution complaints should go to him. Content comments should be directed at the Esperanza talkpage. Thanks!
The current process for accepting proposals for new programs has been deemed fine. All Advisory Council members and the Admin Gen are to endevour to be bold when viewing discussion. If they feel that consensus has been reached, they will act accordingly.
A plea from the editor...
The propsed programs page is terribly underused! Please leave any comments, good or bad, on the page, to help us determine the membership's thoughts on the ideas there.
Thanks, I hadn't realized that a checkuser had not already been requested (I knew about the eyeonvaughan one, and I figured this would go along with it). Thank you for you concern towards the validity of my linking of the webpage. If you have noticed, the page which i linked to is not a commercial website, it does not include any links to other webpages and it deals only with Search Engine Optimization, the topic of the article. The content of the webpage are too much in detail to be included in the wiki article.

Factsmart.org is a non-profit web site that attempts to educate the public in risk-related health issues. I could write much more extensive material into the associated Wikipedia articles, but it would lengthen them beyond what most readers would be interested in. (This IS an encyclopedia, not a medical study forum...). Please feel free to suggest a better way to bring the information to the readers. [user:Avigdor6].
So you threw the baby out with the bathwater. I must have been naive assuming that Wikipedia is here to educate, not just to pontificate the glory of obscure formulae that are accessible to the very few. As a senior scientist, I see it as my job to educate the public by explaining things in elementary terms. "Risk ratio", and the "Ethics of Statins" are issues that need to be made clear to the public, as are many other issues that the press hypes. However, you have deleted them. To repeat: Please feel free to suggest a better way to bring the information to the readers. [user:Avigdor6] Apr 16, 16:32 UTC.
About Yahoo ads that you keep mentioning - I have invested 2000 hours R&D after a long day's work, over the past 30 months, and $200 in hosting the site. The ads have provided me with all of $1.30. This is a labor of love. I believe the word needs to get out. Wikipedia cannot provide all the space needed, in an encyclopedia format, and even if it did, I don't have another 2000 hours to rewrite it all. Just do me a favor, and before you criticize further, please take the time to go thoroughly through two topics of your chosing. Tell me what you think then. [user:Avigdor6] Apr 17, 00:07 UTC.
Response How about just putting in the content without putting in a link to factsmart.org in every one of your contributions? In most cases, I only deleted the link. I did delete a sentence or two in cases where the sentence didn't add anything new to the article. Looking at your contributions, it appears that the underlying intent is to add as many links to factsmart.org (which has Yahoo! ads) as possible. Sorry about that. It was a misunderstanding of how the popup tools works. I was going back and removing link spam from a bunch of pages (some of it had been added quite awhile ago). I guess this is where we ask you questions. Here's my situation. I'm a college student, and I wrote a paper on Counterfeit Goods. I found a site that I liked, and it had a lot of information. I noticed Wikipedia didn't have a lot of the information that was listed on that other site, so I started linking to them on various articles. Now, is the problem linking to them and not writing in the article, or is it linking to them in general?
I hope that you could talk to me about this, because I really am upset that you are accusing me of being a spammer. I can't begin to tell you how upset I am to see that everything I linked to was deleted as spam.
So, my questions are this:
1. How can I link to a website that contains information about the article topic without it being considred spam?
2. Should I just source the website, write a brief paragraph using the information from the source, and then just source the website instead of doing an external link? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.234.95.40 (talk • contribs) , presumably Joelee (talk·contribs)
Response Your contribution pattern was suspicious; when a single user adds links to a number of articles pointing to a site that has Google ads, it suggests that the individual could be trying to drive traffic to that site via Wikipedia. While you did add some content, most of the content was just a sentence or two quote from the site. The quote that you later deleted after I deleted the source link could easily be sourced at the Department of Justice's site.
Spam-hunting isn't an exact science, and there are occasional "false positives" where good-faith link additions are deleted. In this case, the site in question appears to be an "aggregator" of information publically available, so I'm not too keen on restoring all of those links. On the other hand, I don't think it's necessary to ban all links to that site, but I was able to easily find a public-domain (.gov) source for the same information. OhNoitsJamieTalk00:07, 22 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]__DTELLIPSISBUTTON__{"threadItem":{"timestamp":"2006-04-22T00:07:00.000Z","author":"Ohnoitsjamie","type":"comment","level":1,"id":"c-Ohnoitsjamie-2006-04-22T00:07:00.000Z-Questions_on_SPAM?","replies":["c-Ohnoitsjamie-2006-04-25T04:18:00.000Z-Ohnoitsjamie-2006-04-22T00:07:00.000Z"],"displayName":"OhNo"}}-->
Response to your response. I was looking at my contribution pattern and I guess it does look suspicious. I guess I wanted to contribute without having to put in the effort to write anything worthwhile. So here's what I'm going to do. In the articles that I contributed before, I'll write up more information then simply linking to a site and writing one or two sentences. If I use only one type of source, then I'll do what you did and site the original document from the site. If I utilize several sources from that site, then, to be fair and to keep it simple, I'll source the site. Does that sound okay to you? If you have problems with what I just wrote, then please tell me and hopefully we can figure something out. From the looks of your page, you seem very busy, so I hope this won't take up too much of your time. Thanks Joelee (talk·contribs)
Hi Joe; given your explanation, it seems like your contributions have in fact been been in good faith; I apologize for not interpreting them as such. Understand that there is a massive effort by some to use Wikipedia as an SEO tool, so it's easy to become overly suspicious. Hi there, I noticed you were reverting in a frenzy earlier, but you unfortunately forgot to warn some of the vandals. The key part to fighting vandalism is warning the offenders, as if they don't see any opposition, they'll keep doing it. I'd say that in my 7000+ reverts I've added warnings at least 90% of the time. If I'm on the busy side I'll occasionally neglect it. Personally, I think it's more effective to revert the vandalism quickly (for the same reasons that painting over grafitti quickly discourages it). A lot of these middle school kids or AOL proxy users don't care if their IP gets blocked. By reverting the edits within seconds, hopefully they realise how futile their efforts are. I was wondering if I could renovate your userpage; free of charge, of course; I have a small idea of the color scheme (I'm using your signature as a template), but I was wondering how you want it set up (tables i.e. User:Sango123, show/hide i.e. User:Master of Puppets, etc.) You don't have to renovate, but I was just putting this up to see if I could convince you to hand over your userpage. :P Cheers, MoppEr Speak!23:26, 4 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]__DTELLIPSISBUTTON__{"threadItem":{"timestamp":"2006-05-04T23:26:00.000Z","author":"Master of Puppets","type":"comment","level":1,"id":"c-Master_of_Puppets-2006-05-04T23:26:00.000Z-Userpage","replies":["c-Master_of_Puppets-2006-05-04T23:36:00.000Z-Master_of_Puppets-2006-05-04T23:26:00.000Z"],"displayName":"Mopp"}}-->

Your userpage has been converted, too; this is only the rought draft, of course. I was thinking that maybe I should add some tables on tables to provide a nice color effect; also, a bit more text (this part is optional) could help to balance the two parts of the userpage, as this way the userboxes are eating the info part. Jamie, would you mind letting me know why you removed all the resource links posted from 67.103.169.42. I think the posts were reverted last night around 9pm. The links are not commercial and do not link to a commercial site. The links I've posted send Wikipedia users to the site for one of the most respected not-for-profits in the country, the American Academy of Achievement. The site honors achievers from every corner of the world and features extensive resources. All of them include photo galleries, video interviews, achiever bios and profiles, as well as printed interviews. Each achiever has been inducted into the American Academy of Achievement as a member.
What steps do I need to take so that I can continue with adding resources and not be labelled a "spammer?" Also, how can I go about retrieving the links I've already added? I can contribute to the content if needed.

I would welcome the opportunity to add content to each of these sites for achievers.
Is there a possibility of adding a "famous quotes" section to each site, adding quotes featured in Academy of Achievement interviews? How would I do this in a technical sense?
To add a quotes section, would I have to obtain permission from the editor of each site? If so, how do I do this?
Also, by adding content, will I then be able to add the external links to the Academy? Would I have to limit them to just the interview and photo gallery links, or can I still link to the biography and profile pages as well?
I know this is a lot of questions, but I am new to this process and don't want to step on any toes.
The Achievement website is a great resource and would act as a valuable supplemental tool for people wanting to access additional information.
Thanks for your time.
Best,
Sara Spillers

I'm not denying its existence; it's just that I wasn't convinced that it needed its own article. It's already mentioned in the Cocaine article; why not add a few sentences there? Well it is officially classifed by the DEA as a time period between 1985-1990 when there was a huge surge in crack usage that also led to high levels of crime. They have a lot of newspaper articles on it but they are on reserve on subsrciption only sites and you can no longer view them on the regular newspaper sites because of how old they are. It was beleived by many New York politicians that the epidemic would destroy the city of New York. I just have to dig up the material from subssription sites and the cite it. It affected every major city from coast to coast. The Administrator Coaching program is a program aimed at preparing Wikipedians for Adminship or helping them understand the intricacies of Wikipedia better. Recently, changes have been made to the requirements of coachees. Please review them before requesting this service.
This would be something like the Welcoming Committee, but for people who have figured out the basics of editing articles; they're not newcomers any more, but they might want some help in learning new roles. Some might like suggestions about how to learn vandal patrol, or mentoring on taking an article to featured status, or guidance with a proposal they plan to make at the Village Pump, for example. In this way, Esperanza would help keep hope alive for Wikipedia because we would always be grooming the next generation of admins.
The Stressbusters are a subset of Esperanza aiming to investigate the causes of stress. New eyes on the situation are always welcome!

Dear Ohnoitsjamie,
you deleted the link to the bittorrent search engine zoozle.net for the wiki entry in http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_search_engines#BitTorrent_search_engines and told me to keep off with commercial or private links. thats ok to me. but now the other hand of the story: zoozle is a search engine for bittorrent links and indexes ober 10 000 new torrents a day. the news section has over 100 000 html pages with content. it is non commercial! there are no ads that would nagg the user. now my question: please take a look at english zoozle and make your own point of view. please do so. after that please think about re-adding the link to zoozle to the "List_of_search_engines". If you don't agree with me please tell me why you keep the links to mininova and piratebay on the wiki page of Bittorrent search engines.
Yours,
Sebastian

I have edited the "Traction" section of the Wiki. Look for past edits. I have added valuable content. I understand what Wikipedia is for and it is not my intention to spam - however the content I have added is useful. Dear Jamie, although your name is familiar to me since our paths have crossed a few times here and there, I suppose we should actually "thank" Mr. RAbbott for actually getting us to talk to each other. As I come in contact with users I'm familiar with, I always take the time to make a deeper review of their contributions and activity. I was there when you applied for adminship back in January, although I chose to stay aside due to my short time here at WP. Now, I firmly believe you have ammassed a solid experience and deep knowledge of our project, and I see a positive and kind attitude that I praise. For all these reasons, it is my humble belief that you are ready to reapply, and in case you want, it'd be my pleasure to act as your nominator. Please, just let me know I you feel like taking this step, and I will proceed immediately.
Once again, thank you for your vigilance regarding my userpage. It was really special to me. After a lenghty, but much-needed Wikibreak, I'm happy to announce that version 1.2 of VandalProof is now available for download! Beyond fixing some of the most obnoxious bugs, like the persistent crash on start-up that many have experienced, version 1.2 also offers a wide variety of new features, including a stub-sorter, a global user whitelist and blacklist, navigational controls, and greater customization. You can find a full list of the new features here. While I believe this release to be a significant improvement over the last, it's nonetheless nowhere near the end of the line for VandalProof. Thanks to Rob Church, I now have an account on test.wikipedia.org with SysOp rights and have already been hard at work incorporating administrative tools into VandalProof, which I plan to make available in the near future. An example of one such SysOp tool that I'm working on incorporating is my simple history merge tool, which simplifies the process of performing history merges from one article into another. Anyway, if you haven't already, I'd encourage you to download and install version 1.2 and take it out for a test-drive. As always, your suggestions for improvement are always appreciated, and I hope that you will find this new version useful. I could understand the POV for "safest cities" wouldn't agree but would understand. What I am very confused about is what other organization/group would be held most responsible for any criminal statistics or lack there of by the citizens of a city? I don't mind rephrasing but I think it is pointless to somehow leave the police agency of a municipality OUT of the justification for why or why not it might be one of the safest cities in the country. Actually, I think it would be more verifiable to say a city is "the safest city" if you back it up with a source (e.g., "in 2005, US News and WOrld Report ranked Pittsburgh as the safest city.") I'm not disputing that Pittsburgh is a relatively safe city (I used to ride my bike through the Hill District), but there may (and probably are) any number of reasons why. While it is certainly possible that characteristics of the police department are the main factor in the crime level, it would be almost impossible to prove (and thus verify) that statement. Personally, I think the Pittsburgh police do a fine job; I used to have a job in which I worked closely with police in the North Hills and met a lot of great police officers. I'm just trying to stick to enforce Wikipedia policies. Hiya, thank you for participating in the AfD discussion on the Stanley Dunin article. Since you seem to be one of the more neutral parties involved (thanks!), I wanted to get your opinion on a couple of points. Specifically, on the notability claim, it was my understanding that anyone who was a titled member of the European noble class, automatically qualified as notable under Wikipedia guidelines[5]. Did I mis-understand this? There are also other notability claims. One is difficult to prove via Google now, but he was definitely in the news in the 1940s, as he was a Polish war orphan who had various members of Michigan society (including a United States Senator) working to get him and his sisters into the country. Another is that Dunin grew up to be a NASA engineer, and was involved with some notable events, such as the launch of the world's first geosynchronous communications satellite. Another event was Dunin's participation in the solution of the Cyrillic Projector cipher. He's definitely been considered notable enough to have been written up in the newspaper a few times... Can you explain more about why you think that that's not sufficient? Or is there simply a miscommunication? Thanks in advance for any advice, --Elonka01:53, 24 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]__DTELLIPSISBUTTON__{"threadItem":{"timestamp":"2006-05-24T01:53:00.000Z","author":"Elonka","type":"comment","level":1,"id":"c-Elonka-2006-05-24T01:53:00.000Z-AfD_question","replies":["c-Ohnoitsjamie-2006-05-24T03:40:00.000Z-Elonka-2006-05-24T01:53:00.000Z"]}}-->
You make a great arguement, Elonka. Obviouslyn, notability is not measured by a solid line. There wasn't anything clearcut in the subject's article that indicate obvious nobility, but even given a conservative interpretation of notability, I think you've swayed me from "weak delete" to "weak keep." You questioned the edits by User:81.174.168.63 today on the lion and tiger articles. They are indeed vandalism. I thought they might be using out of date sources or something when I was just reading the tiger page, but upon examining the lion edits, the figures are obvious vandalism (as well as the removal of the other statements regarding superlatives on the tiger page). It looks like the point is to make lions bigger than tigers, which is obviously false (for instance, no lion has ever been 1000 pounds!). I don't have time to revert them now. Would you be kind enough to do so? If not, I will tomorrow morning. Jamie... can't I even put my CMS on the page of comparisons? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 24.137.90.147 (talk • contribs) .
If your company's article survives afd, yes. However, I don't even think that Comparison_of_content_management_systems belongs in Wikipedia, and have tagged it for suggested deletion. If that tag is removed and a good reason for it's existence is not provided, I'll send it to articles for deletion. As I noted in the prod tag, I doubt that most of the products listed on that page would pass Wikipedia notability standards. I removed your prod tag. As I said in the edit summary, I understand where you're coming from and kinda-sorta agree. That article and others like it are a constant headache. But it's a valuable resource and I think most of the products referenced are fairly notable. Not all! We just underwent a major cleanout, mostly of redlinks. The next step is to look at individual product articles from the list and see which ones are truly spam or non-notable. It's essentially a "bottom up" cleanup effort of CMS articles, and this article is a useful way to keep track of which articles to look at. So like I say, I hear your doubts, but I think we're taking care of it. However, if you want to take this to AfD, I wouldn't be averse--but articles like this usually don't fare well there, in my opinion.
Also wanted to thank you for stepping in in the Atlantic Webfitters bruhaha. I didn't want to edit war, though I think he's totally in the wrong. Hi Roddi, perhaps I was a bit hasty in nominating the whole kit-and-kaboodle for deletion. It's easy for advertisements masquerading as articles to slowly seep in, since it's not that easy to judge notability standards for software products unless one happens to be very knowledgeable in that area. Since there is a cleanup effort underway, I withdraw my pledge to send it to afd. No problem; I dislike vandalism as much as you do! It's not unusual for certain articles to be targeted like that. I've been adding a lot of "common" animals to my watchlist and see them get hit a lot. The vandalism comes from different IPs, so maybe it's a common thread among middle school students?
I see the "this article may be too long" message on a lot of articles. I think this particular article could be broken out into a few specialized sections (perhaps a section for breeds, a section for horse sports). I see there are already a few notes near the end of the talk page expressing the same concern about the length of the article. Maybe it's time for someone to be bold? A thankyou for all the great antivandalism work you have done on WP, frequently giving me work at AIV Blnguyen
Actually Jamie, have you thought of becoming an admin? That would speed up things a lot. I would be willing to nominate you. Also, I'm surprised that one user managed to put nonsense numbers in about 30 articles without being noticed until he vandalised a userpage. In my contribs you can see that I rolled him back on about 30 diffrent consecutive pages! Thanks for reverting vandalism to my user page. They caught me when my guard was down...
It was a very busy yesterday over at South Central Farm. Some of the vandals got mad when I rolled back their edits, blocked them, and protected the article. They took their frustration out on me.
Anyways, I've seen you around, and I just thought I'd say you do good work. In fact, I remember when you were new!

King of Hearts would like to nominate you to be an administrator. Please visit Wikipedia:Requests for adminship to see what this process entails, and then contact King of Hearts to accept or decline the nomination. A page has been created for your nomination at Wikipedia:Requests for adminship/Ohnoitsjamie 2. If you accept the nomination, you must formally state your acceptance and answer the questions on that page. Once you have answered the questions, you may post your nomination for discussion, or request that your nominator do so.
Thanks for voting! Hello Ohnoitsjamie/archive3, and thank you so much for voting in my recent RfA. I am pleased to inform you that it passed with a final tally of (119/1/3), into the WP:100, so I have now been cleared for adminship and will soon be soaring above the clouds. I was overjoyed, shocked, and humbled by the tally, and, most importantly, all the support. Thank you. If there is ever anything you need, you know where you can find me. Take care.

As you may have gathered, discussions have been raging for about a week on the Esperanza talk page as to the future direction of Esperanza. Some of these are still ongoing and warrant more input (such as the idea to scrap the members list altogether). However, some decisions have been made and the charter has hence been amended. See what happened. Basically, the whole leadership has had a reshuffle, so please review the new, improved charter.
As a result, we are electing 4 people this month. They will replace JoanneB and Pschemp and form a new tranche A, serving until December. Elections will begin on 2006-07-02 and last until 2006-07-09. If you wish to run for a Council position, add your name to the list before 2006-07-02. For more details, see Wikipedia:Esperanza/June 2006 elections.

There are no external links featuring formatted/more readable text nor entire books of the KJV on a single page. I think the link I added is relevant and a good addition to the KJV page. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Ollhondallo (talk • contribs)
The ebible.org site can display an entire book on a single page. Readability between that site and your site is debatable. OhNoitsJamieTalk05:02, 26 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]__DTELLIPSISBUTTON__{"threadItem":{"timestamp":"2006-06-26T05:02:00.000Z","author":"Ohnoitsjamie","type":"comment","level":1,"id":"c-Ohnoitsjamie-2006-06-26T05:02:00.000Z-KJV_external_links_page","replies":[]}}-->
That site uses slow javascript that takes ages to load. Compare Psalms on that site with Psalms on plainbible. In addition, it lacks chapter headings. Not very easily navigable/readable.
There's nothing inherently slow about Javascript. I still don't see a significant difference between the two sites. On the other hand, your plainbible site doesn't have ads, so as long as it stays that way, I'll leave it be. OhNoitsJamieTalk06:17, 26 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]__DTELLIPSISBUTTON__{"threadItem":{"timestamp":"2006-06-26T06:17:00.000Z","author":"Ohnoitsjamie","type":"comment","level":1,"id":"c-Ohnoitsjamie-2006-06-26T06:17:00.000Z-KJV_external_links_page","replies":[]}}-->
Thanks. Btw, I'm not referring to Javascript being inherently slow. ebible.org uses document.write to display its verse numbers. document.write is a lot slower than already written html.
Hi. I was dropping off an NPA warning on someone's page and saw you telling them they shouldn't hyperlink dates. I had always been under the impression that it was good to hyperlink dates so that they would show up in the person's native date format -- e.g., 26 June2006 is going to appear for me, when I save this and look back at it, like "June 26, 2006" -- but someone might see it as "26 June 2006." Can you fill me in on the rationale behind this? Don't reinvent the wheel; feel free to just point me to the right debate/policy if it's mentioned/been discussed somewhere. (Feel free to reply here, I've added the page to my watchlist.) Obliged! — Mike • 20:58, 26 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]__DTELLIPSISBUTTON__{"threadItem":{"timestamp":"2006-06-26T20:58:00.000Z","author":"WCityMike","type":"comment","level":1,"id":"c-WCityMike-2006-06-26T20:58:00.000Z-Hyperlinking_Dates","replies":["c-Ohnoitsjamie-2006-06-26T23:43:00.000Z-WCityMike-2006-06-26T20:58:00.000Z"],"displayName":"Mike"}}-->
I didn't know that there were preferences for date format. I just felt that the user you mention was overlinking dates (and another user after me felt the same way); the style guide suggests only linking dates where it's somehow relevant to the article. Obviously, that's a big grey area, but I think it makes an article feel too "busy" if every single date is linked. I reverted your "cleaning up" of red links at list of statisticians. I don't know why you did that. A red link is a visible invitation to anyone who knows something about the topic to provide some content, and an advertisement that there is a need. Obviously Henry Scheffé and Chester Bliss are worthy of articles. Those red links are needed. Michael Hardy00:16, 29 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]__DTELLIPSISBUTTON__{"threadItem":{"timestamp":"2006-06-29T00:16:00.000Z","author":"Michael Hardy","type":"comment","level":1,"id":"c-Michael_Hardy-2006-06-29T00:16:00.000Z-\"cleaning_up\"","replies":["c-Ohnoitsjamie-2006-06-29T00:54:00.000Z-Michael_Hardy-2006-06-29T00:16:00.000Z"]}}-->
I tried not to be "indiscriminate"; the redlinks that I removed had no claims of notability. What tends to happen with these lists is that vanity and/or joke additions tend to creep in over time. I'm glad that someone more familiar with the field recognized that those two were indeed notable. Might I suggest creating stub articles for them with a brief description of what they are noted for in their field (or at least note that on the list page). That will ensure that they won't get "cleaned up." Cheers, OhNoitsJamieTalk00:54, 29 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]__DTELLIPSISBUTTON__{"threadItem":{"timestamp":"2006-06-29T00:54:00.000Z","author":"Ohnoitsjamie","type":"comment","level":2,"id":"c-Ohnoitsjamie-2006-06-29T00:54:00.000Z-Michael_Hardy-2006-06-29T00:16:00.000Z","replies":[]}}-->
It's not only those two that I mentioned that had claims to notability: Erich Lehmann is also notable. How in the world did you reach the conclusion that the red links you deleted had no claims to notability? In at least those three cases you were very clearly wrong about that. Congratulations. Here are what pass for words of wisdom from the puppy:
Remember you must always follow the rules, except for when you ignore them. You will always pick the wrong one to do. (See #5)
Remember to assume good faith and not bite. Remember that when you are applying these principles most diligently, you are probably dealing with a troll.
Use the block ability sparingly. Enjoy the insults you receive when you do block.
Remember when you make these errors, someone will be more than happy to point them out to you in dazzling clarity and descriptive terminology.
and finally, Remember to contact me if you ever need assistance, and I will do what I am able.

Thanks for reverting the Greyhound entry to get rid of the "informational links". I was thinking of doing the same as the pages seem to not have the ultimate purpose of greyhound information but I was not sure. Could you clarify why you reverted the entry?

per this discussion, I've started removing some of the non-breed-specific sites. The two I'm seeing the most often are pretty ad-heavy and don't add a lot of additional information (if any) to the topic that isn't covered in the articles. Hi Mets501. Sorry it took so long for someone to block that user. I'm trying to be really conservative with my new admin tools until I'm a little more confident with them. I was trying to figure out if it was some sort of a content dispute (was there some question regarding the NJ vacancy) since it wasn't simple vandalism. Do you have any idea what his motivation was? I was getting ready to give him a 3RR warning when theProject stepped up to the plate. Cheers, OhNoitsJamieTalk18:01, 30 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]__DTELLIPSISBUTTON__{"threadItem":{"timestamp":"2006-06-30T18:01:00.000Z","author":"Ohnoitsjamie","type":"comment","level":1,"id":"c-Ohnoitsjamie-2006-06-30T18:01:00.000Z-Blocked_anon","replies":["c-Mets501-2006-06-30T18:06:00.000Z-Ohnoitsjamie-2006-06-30T18:01:00.000Z"]}}-->
Yeah, that was a tough one. I'm not sure what his motives for that were, and I would have called that a content thing had he not blanked the page several times before (see this diff). I would have let the New Jersey thing go as a legit edit but not after I reverted his blanking just before. Thanks for trying to help though :-). It's better to be conservative and not get any of the other admins mad. —Mets501 (talk)18:06, 30 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]__DTELLIPSISBUTTON__{"threadItem":{"timestamp":"2006-06-30T18:06:00.000Z","author":"Mets501","type":"comment","level":2,"id":"c-Mets501-2006-06-30T18:06:00.000Z-Ohnoitsjamie-2006-06-30T18:01:00.000Z","replies":[]}}-->
Do you have trouble reading English? The site that you posted clearly states, "Capitalize the first letter only of the first word and of any proper nouns in a heading, and leave all of the other letters in lowercase." The edits that you have made have decapitalised the first letters of "proper nouns". If you have trouble with English, which you obviously do, do not edit English pages. Furthermore, do not remove imforation which is highly valid, ie. the list of Masters of the School. —Preceding unsigned comment added by JohnSmith123456 (talk • contribs)

Hello, I have been watching this debacle on this page. As a former member of the School and a Fellow of English at Edinburgh University I have the authority to inform you that the content that you are removing conforms to Wikipedia's guidlines as the contributions by this individual in terms of headings are proper nouns in the truest sense on the meaning. I do hope that this will be resolved. Looking at the history it would appear that the user has made a significant number of high level contributions. As an Old Member of this school I do not take kindly to you deleting the list of past Headmasters. This is vandalism as is defined by Wikipedia. Please do not continute to do it. I will now revert that deletion. —Preceding unsigned comment added by MarcusHolmes (talk • contribs)
The deletion of the headmasters list was inadvertant (it was not in the revision I was looking at when I rolled back the change). "School uniforms" and similar headings are not proper nouns and do not need to be capitalized. Conforming to Wikipedia conventions is certainly not vandalism. Also, please read Wikipedia's policies on sockpuppets. It's very easy to check the IP addresses of registered users to confirm that they are editing from the same location.
