I asked on the talk page why this template had been created when we already have {{Oceania topic}}. Since you have not replied, I presume you do not have the page watchlisted. Why did you not move the existing template rather than create a new one?-gadfium22:06, 25 February 2011 (UTC)
Hope you don't feel too much under attack
I have some issues with that article, but it is not against you. And I do appreciate that it is a lot easier to criticize than to write. So please don't let any of my sharpness get to you. Good luck on your RFA.TCO (talk) 02:25, 2 March 2011 (UTC)
MSU TC 210 Wiki Project
Hello, My name is Ricky Whidby and I am a student participating in the TC 210 class at Michigan State University. We are currently working on a Public Policy Wiki Project and my team is working on the Free Press lobbying group and you recently signed on as our mentor. My username is Mediaphyte and I look forward to working with you. Thank you again for your help!Mediaphyte (talk) 14:30, 24 February 2011 (UTC)
Hey there! I'm Elaina Wilson, and I too, am a member of the Free Press (organization) group. My username is WilsonComm Looking forward to working with you throughout this semester as we get more and more involved in this wikipedia project! (talk) 16:42, 15 March 2011 (UTC)
Where would you like me to declare my acceptance of a community recall method? I would be glad to put one in place, but the issue hasn't come up in the RFA.
Please take a look at this project page and see if you can be a mentor to one of the many Areas of Study. If you can, please put your name in the "Online Mentor" area of the Area of Study of your choice and then contact the students you will be working with. As the Coordinating Online Ambassador for this project, please let me know if I can be of assistance. Take Care...Neutralhomer • Talk • 04:32, 3 March 2011 (UTC)

How to help WikiProject Anthroponymy
Please keep up with the discussions at our main talk page. Your input is needed!
In Irish and Scottish mythology, the Cailleach (Irish pronunciation:[ˈkalʲəx], Irish plural [cailleacha] Error: {{Lang}}: text has italic markup (help)[ˈkalʲəxə], Scottish Gaelic plural [cailleachan] Error: {{Lang}}: text has italic markup (help)/kaʎəxən/), also known as the Cailleach Bheur, is a divine hag, a creatrix, and possibly an ancestral deity or deified ancestor. The word simply means 'old woman' in modern Scottish Gaelic, and has been applied to numerous mythological figures in Scotland, Ireland and the Isle of Man. (More...)
Hello, I have updated the Project Page you are mentoring on with usernames for all the students in your Area of Study. Please send them a message introducing yourself and let them know you are there to help.
Congratulations Neelix! I knew you'd pass. I hope that T-shirt fits, the one they gave me yesterday (in good faith of course) was too small - I need an XXL. --Kudpung (talk) 00:24, 4 March 2011 (UTC)
Congratulations! I have closed your RfA as successful.
On behalf of the community, thank you for submitting yourself to the trials of RfA and well done for coming through so well. Good luck with your new tools. You may find Wikipedia:New admin school useful, but don't be shy to ask other admins (or Crats) for help if in doubt.
Congratulations. I'm happy to see that sanity prevailed at the RfA. I was an admin under a now-abandoned account and I always felt that the only things that made me competent were my understanding of the content-side of the project and my awareness of the fact that I'm quite often wrong. (that and my general fear of unwittingly causing a big mess) Have fun with the mop! Pichpich (talk) 22:15, 3 March 2011 (UTC)
Fantastic! Someone must have told you already. If they haven't, you can raid my scripts. Or any admin's. Some of the scripts are really helpful. Remember, it's better to not use the tool than use it, in cases where you're not sure. Have a lovely time editing and administrating. Wifione ....... Leave a message13:12, 4 March 2011 (UTC)
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. ukexpat (talk) 18:23, 9 March 2011 (UTC)
I object to your unilateral move. The page's location/title is not uncontentious; there have been at least 2 prior Requested Moves and several other varied discussions about what the page's topic should be and how it should be handled. --Cybercobra(talk)21:36, 13 March 2011 (UTC)
Marking articles students are working on
Howdy, Online Ambassador!
This is a quick message to all the ambassadors about marking and tracking which articles students are working on. For the classes working with the ambassador program, please look over any articles being worked on by students (in particular, any ones you are mentoring, but others who don't have mentors as well) and do these things:
Add {{WAP assignment | term = Spring 2011 }} to the articles' talk pages. (The other parameters of the {{WAP assignment}} template are helpful, so please add them as well, but the term = Spring 2011 one is most important.)
If the article is related to United States public policy, make sure the article the WikiProject banner is on the talk page: {{WikiProject United States Public Policy}}
Add Category:Article Feedback Pilot (a hidden category) to the article itself. The second phase of the Article Feedback Tool project has started, and this time we're trying to include all of the articles students are working on. Please test out the Article Feedback Tool, as well. The new version just deployed, so any bug reports or feedback will be appreciated by the tech team working on it.
And of course, don't forget to check in on the students, give them constructive feedback, praise them for positive contributions, award them {{The WikiPen}} if they are doing excellent work, and so on. And if you haven't done so, make sure any students you are mentoring are listed on your mentor profile.
Got a message about an hour ago from Professor Obar of the Media and Telecommunication Policy project and I think it is viewed best in full:
Can you please communicate to the online mentors that I DO NOT want them moving student material into the main space for them. This is a big problem. I have noticed that this has happened with a number of the projects already, for example, in the broadband.gov article and the media cross-ownership article. We need the students to be doing this on their own, of course so they can learn how to do it, and also so that I can grade what they've done. How am I supposed to follow student submissions if the data is associated with online mentors? A BIG PROBLEM ALREADY... please help me with this. None of you responded to my post about this on the discussion page. This is about to get out of hand. Jaobar (talk) 05:27, 20 March 2011 (UTC)
With that, of course, please only give instructions on how to move, don't do it for them. Please only let them know what to do and let them do it themselves. If they run into problems, provide further instructions. Do not it for them. This seems to be making a mess of Prof. Obar's grading system and I would like to avoid that. Thanks. - Neutralhomer • Talk • Coor. Online Amb'dor • 06:14, 20 March 2011 (UTC)

Wikipedia Ambassador Program Newsletter: 21 March 2011
This is the third issue of the Wikipedia Ambassador Program Newsletter, with details about what's going on right now and where help is needed.
Where the courses are - A brief summary of how each of the 31 Public Policy Initiative courses are faring so far in the Spring 2011 term, as of 9-11 March. Feel free to add more detail.
Tracking students' articles - Make sure students' articles are tagged with {{WAP assignment}} on the talk pages, and have the newly improved Article Feedback Tool active.
Online Ambassadors logistics - If you don't have a Wikipedia Ambassador sweatshirt, now's your chance to get one! (Also, some other more mundane, but important, details.)
Steering committee preparing proposals - Look for discussions about two major proposals about the future ambassador program soon: the "Regional Ambassador" role, and elections for a new committee.
A tag has been placed on Once More Unto the Breach (DS9 episode), requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done for the following reason:
Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not meet basic Wikipedia criteria may be deleted at any time.
— Preceding signed comment added by Cymru.lass (talk • contribs) 07:15, 24 March 2011 (UTC)

about the Qur'anic people
Thank you! In the Qur'anic people template, the thing is that the communities should be specified otherwise it would not be complete; but I cannot find pages to link them to - thus I have made People of Jonah link to Jonah and so on. Any help you could offer without removing the communities permanently.--Imadjafar (talk) 15:06, 10 April 2011 (UTC)
Thank you for the suggestions. I feel the following can be done:
taking into account that Elijah preached in Israel, People of Elijah can be removed.
for People of Jonah, we can list Nineveh, as that is where the prophet preached
for People of Lot, we can list Sodom and Gomorrah, as that is where the prophet preached
I had suggested the above as they all are pages which link to the page of the place/town/city where the people lived (thus instead of People of Thamud, I suggested Thamud). I do not quite understand what you mean though, as these are the communities mentioned in the Qur'an so I feel they should be in the table. Please can you explain your suggestions.--Imadjafar (talk) 18:55, 10 April 2011 (UTC)
Italics = While the figure has been revered by many Muslims as a saint, status as a prophet is not accepted by all.
I thought I should tell you that I added them back because Enoch and Ezekiel are not always identified with Idris and Zulkifl; in fact, most modern scholars reject these claims. All scholars, however, regard Ezekiel and Enoch as prophets - whether they support the identification or not, so I thought that both these figures should be in the table. What are your suggestions?--Imadjafar (talk) 19:26, 10 April 2011 (UTC)
I understand that you are an admin, but before moving a set of articles, there should have been some sort of discussion - I am not aware of any discussion.--Peaceworld16:28, 15 April 2011 (UTC)

Please help assess articles for Public Policy Initiative research
Hi Neelix/Archive 10,
Your work as an Online Ambassador is making a big contribution to Wikipedia. Right now, we're trying to measure just how much student work improves the quality of Wikipedia. If you'd like contribute to this research and get a firsthand look at the quality improvement that is happening through the project, please sign up to assess articles. Assessment is happening now, just use the quantitative metric and start assessing! Your help would be hugely appreciated!
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Hi Neelix! If possible, can you please review the article I posted at my sub-page (".../ESI Group") and let me know if it's ready for the mainspace or if there are any changes I should make to it? I would just feel better if a second pair of eyes would look it over. Thank you very much!Michael Leeman (talk) 18:08, 10 May 2011 (UTC)
I am glad you are interested in improving the articles about national cabinets. I have reviewed Wikipedia's naming conventions for articles relating to government and legislation and I am not convinced that those guidelines argue for a "Cabinet of country" naming format for national cabinet articles. As you point out, the Cabinet of Germany is mentioned as an example, but that example is provided not in order to establish a "Cabinet of country" naming format for national cabinet articles but rather in order to establish that "disambiguation is unnecessary if the country or other jurisdiction is a natural part of the subject's name". In the "Adjectival Cabinet" naming format, the subject's name is still present and without disambiguation, therefore it does not contradict the aforementioned naming conventions. Instead, the "Cabinet of country" naming format contradicts the Wikipedia policy about common names, which states that, for article titles, Wikipedia "uses the name that is most frequently used to refer to the subject in English-language reliable sources". In the case of national cabinets, the most common names employ the "Adjectival Cabinet" format. A Google Book search results in 8870 hits for "German Cabinet" but only 79 hits for "Cabinet of Germany". Similarly, "Egyptian Cabinet" receives 3550 hits while "Cabinet of Egypt" receives only 155. The "Adjectival Cabinet" format results in the names that are by far the most common in reliable English-language sources. Have I justified the "Adjectival Cabinet" format to your satisfaction?
No, you have not. You have totally missed the point, in fact. The common term is simply 'cabinet' or 'parliament' or 'congress' or 'senator' or 'representative' or whatever else. Within ANY country it's assumed governmental terms apply to that country's own government, and so the name of the country is not included at all in common usage. (The exception being government with multiple levels, in which case terms such as 'state senator' and 'US senator' are commonly used.) You have, however, justified being described as arrogant, self-centered, and dismissive. At Wikipedia we act on discussion and consensus, especially on 'items of long standing. You've apparently decided you're above that, and can freely do whatever you like, perhaps focusing on unneeded and unwanted changes so you can continue to up your edit count? I don't know, and I don't care. I've been too busy working on actual articles about actual cabinets and their actual ministers. Please revert your 'work'. Flatterworld (talk) 17:49, 19 May 2011 (UTC)
Hi Flatterworld,
I respectfully disagree with your assessment of what the article titles should be. I do not believe that my edits have been out of line, nor do I feel that your assessments of my character or motivations are accurate. I would be glad to discuss this issue with you civilly, but I am not willing to participate in discussions where attacks are made on my character.
The required discussion should have been instigated by you BEFORE you took it upon yourself to unilaterally upend established naming conventions affecting many, many articles. You couldn't be bothered to work with the Project involved - why is that? You're blaming ME for being 'uncivil' - why is that. Wikipedia is not the place for your passive-aggressive behavior. I'm disappointed you are unwilling or unable to admit you made a serious mistake. Flatterworld (talk) 23:39, 20 May 2011 (UTC)
Hi, Neelix! I see from this page that you're the mentor for "Group 22" in the Media and Telecommunication Policy class at Michigan State University. There was a minor kerfuffle recently about a DYK credit for the Free Press article that this group worked on. Would you please take a look at the "template talk" thread for the Free Press article and put the "DYKMake" template into proper order (or do whatever is necessary) to give DYK credit where it's due, i.e. at least to the four students in that group, since I don't know how to do that myself? I suppose the professor, Jaobar, also deserves DYK credit, as perhaps you do yourself (?) since you've both edited the article, too. Once you've put the DYKMake template in proper order, could you also mark the nomination as "good to go" since four independent and uninvolved users there (myself among them) have now indicated their willingness to approve the nomination under WP:IAR? If you'd like to reply specifically to this message, you can do so here, as I've temporarily watchlisted this page. Also, if you could find time to communicate with the other teams for this class, to help them prevent a recurrence of the problem, that would be grand. Many thanks, – OhioStandard (talk)06:48, 23 May 2011 (UTC)
Oh; in reviewing the article, I noticed there are a lot of links to offsite web pages embedded in the body of the article, that need to be converted to refs. You might also like to let the student contributors know that such links shouldn't be inserted, but should appear as refs or, if it's appropriate, in the "external links" section. I'm not going to make those changes myself, since I don't want to compromise my neutrality re the DYK credit thing by editing the article myself. Cheers, – OhioStandard (talk)07:03, 23 May 2011 (UTC)

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a search with the contents of Jonny Quest (TV series), and it appears to be very similar to another Wikipedia page: Jonny Quest. It is possible that you have accidentally duplicated contents, or made an error while creating the page— you might want to look at the pages and see if that is the case. If you are intentionally trying to rename an article, please see Help:Moving a page for instructions on how to do this without copying and pasting. If you are trying to move or copy content from one article to a different one, please see Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia and be sure you have acknowledged the duplication of material in an edit summary to preserve attribution history.
It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. CorenSearchBot (talk) 02:27, 26 May 2011 (UTC)

Template:Federal Ministries of Nigeria
I saw your recent change renaming the title of Template:Federal Ministries of Nigeria to Cabinet of Nigeria, taking out a redirect. I think this is incorrect - but it is my fault for failing to clean up. The ministries and commissions are government organizations headed by career civil servants. The cabinet members are political appointees made by the President. Sometimes one minister is responsible for more than one ministry or commission, and sometimes two or three ministers are responsible for one ministry. In Nigeria there are 36 states and there must be exactly 36 ministers or ministers of state regardless of the number of ministries. I can see from the history that I started the template with the name as a redirect, probably meaning to start a list-type article on Federal Ministries of Nigeria later, then got sidetracked. Nigerian Civil Service has a list of ministries and commissions, a better target. Is a stand-alone list essential? Aymatth2 (talk) 02:07, 27 May 2011 (UTC)
Hi. Today you moved Federal Council of Switzerland to Cabinet of Switzerland. I would like to obtain your agreement to undo this move. There is no such thing as a cabinet of Switzerland, and as such the article title is simply incorrect. The name of the institution is "Federal Council", not "Cabinet", and nobody (really, nobody!) calls it a "cabinet". Yes, this may be inconsistent with other countries, but Wikipedia's job is to reflect reality, not to make reality conform to some standard of coherence. Regards, Sandstein 15:08, 30 May 2011 (UTC)
Thanks for your agreement. I suggest that you propose such moves individually on talk pages, rather than mass-moving all of them, since in most cases the current official name will be by far the most common name (and hence the appropriate title), rather than "Cabinet of X". Sandstein 15:36, 30 May 2011 (UTC)
Ow, ow, I just noticed the extent of the normalization. That just isn't right. There is no such thing "Cabinet of Croatia", it's universally referred to as "Government" instead. The same goes for "Cabinet of Bosnia and Herzegovina" in real life, they explicitly call it the Council of Ministers (Vijeće ministara) as they want to *avoid* calling it generic Government. --Joy [shallot] (talk) 18:49, 30 May 2011 (UTC)
Err, so that discussion didn't actually include these changes, rather you extrapolated... I think you need to bring this up somewhere else, such as Wikipedia talk:Naming conventions (country-specific topics) or similar, meanwhile I'll revert these two because they're against Wikipedia:Article titles. The titles Cabinet of Croatia, or Bosnia, are hardly common, recognizable or natural, despite the fact their components are, so these titles fail the basic title criteria. It may be argued that the basic criterion of consistency overrides all the others, but I don't see consensus for that in this specific instance. --Joy [shallot] (talk) 11:17, 31 May 2011 (UTC)
Energy and the environment articles
Thank you for rationalising and removing various articles relating to energy and the environment, as many of those smaller articles were not worth keeping, and actually caused confusion to readers. If you get a chance, perhaps have a look at Environmental impact of the Three Gorges Dam, as it is one that also needs to go in my view. Johnfos (talk) 00:09, 12 June 2011 (UTC)
Economics and energy
Hello-I see your PROD at Economics and energy. I was one of a couple editors who lobbied for that article, and I figured I'd discuss it with you rather than remove the PROD notice and deal with AFD. There was a discussion here.
There was a problem with the energy economics article where various ideas / schools of thought / cross-discipline approaches were at risk of taking over the energy economics article, which should essentially be about the field of applied mainstream economics of energy markets (kinda like agricultural economics). It was clear those needed to be at least very toned-down and probably just entirely removed as off-topic to the article. After discussion, we decided (near the bottom of the thread I linked above) that it might be OK to make a page which was a slightly-elaborated disambiguation page and could help folks find those unusual ideas which might be called "energy economics" or "economics of energy" or such by some group, but that don't fit the (overwhelming) majority use of the term.
Making that page was certainly a kludge, but it seemed the best solution. I'd be curious what you think. CRETOG8(t/c) 00:26, 12 June 2011 (UTC)
Ajabaj is a village in the community of Payahan. By following the link to the French wikipedia, you can get further information, but it seems that Payahan has been renamed sometime between 2001 and 2008. It seems as though Armenia started collecting smaller populated places into "communities" which seem like municipalities on the German or French model, but there doesn't seem much explanation of what got assigned where unless one delves through the census records. So while our article on the province may list all these collective communities, it doesn't list all the populated places. Carlossuarez46 (talk) 01:46, 12 June 2011 (UTC)
I haven't figured out how to have two pins on a map, with 2 different locations; so combining articles loses information. Most individual villages have their own articles, once started. More information can be added for the villages by searching on-line, especially if your Armenian is better than my rudimentary skills. Carlossuarez46 (talk) 17:03, 12 June 2011 (UTC)
First, orphanhood isn't the worst thing in the Wiki. Second, all are now connected to their community. Better than combining them, would be to create a template, like Template:Aragatsotn so that all will connected with all. Carlossuarez46 (talk) 00:11, 13 June 2011 (UTC)
Featured list submissions
Just wanted to say thanks for all the great work that you're doing at the featured list submissions page! Building up a stockpile of great blurbs like that is exactly what we envisaged when we first set it up. I promise I'll find the time to review most or all them over the coming days.
Regardless of how well things go, it'll be a couple of months before we consider asking for a more regular slot. The plan is to use the current luxury of time to ensure that the process is robust enough to cope with the demands of going daily. That said, I suppose a buffer of around 90 accepted blurbs would make just about everyone comfortable, although obviously other people's input would be needed.
Something that we need to be mindful of is that more than a third of featured lists are sports-related (and that proportion is rising, if anything). That poses a double dilemma. On the one hand, if we go daily, 35-40% of TFLs being on sports might be considered excessive. On the other hand, if we don't feature a representative proportion of sports lists, we would be delaying the problem: after 12 to 18 months as a daily slot we could end up in a situation where the majority of lists that haven't been featured are sports related.
Great points! I'll keep those in mind when it comes to scripting the proposal to expand. I guess it's also fair to assume that sports are about to peak, in terms of their percentage of all FLs. It's hard to imagine sports FL editors getting any more prolific than they already are. By contrast the extra main page exposure should hopefully inspire a wider range of editors. —WFC— 16:05, 16 June 2011 (UTC)
Hi, deeper in the history was a much fuller version of Economics and energy that I have reverted to. I have declined your Prod because I'm not sure that outright deletion is the best way forward. The main page Energy economics needs content and a merge of some of the content might be possible. I think that a discussion at AfD could be beneficial. TerriersFan (talk) 21:10, 18 June 2011 (UTC)
