Re your message: You may recreate the article if you can establish why the band meets the notability guidelines for inclusion on Wikipedia. Hi,

If you wish to create a page while keeping it protected from speed deletion during development, you can create it as a subpage on your own user page until it is ready for publication. That way, you can tweak it and ad references bit by bit without worrying that admins will delete it before you have added critical information to establish notability. Then, when you are finished, you can publish it as a real article. Copyright: we cannot accept mere assertion of permission, because we have no way to know that someone on the end of a wire is who he says he is, and because release to Wikipedia involves more than just permission to reproduce - it permits readers to copy, modify and re-use the material for any purpose, including commercial. So it is essential that the copyright holder understands and agrees to the license terms, and the procedure explained in WP:Donating copyrighted materials has to be followed.

However, often it is not worth doing that, because material written for other purposes is frequently unsuitable for an encyclopedia article.

Notability: as an encyclopedia, Wikipedia is selective about article subjects: it is not a list of everything. The criterion used is called notability, and is not a matter of opinion but has to be demonstrated by showing "significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject." Significant means more than just listing-type mentions; reliable excludes Myspace, Facebook, blogs, places where anyone can post anything; independent excludes the subject's own website, affiliated ones and anything based on press releases. The test is, have people unconnected with the subject thought it important and significant enough to write substantial comment on?

If the focus of your article is to be the Jouault family, then you will have to show that the family meets that requirement. If there is an individual member who is notable, the article should be about him or her. Unless the notability condition is satisfied, a simple genealogical list is not considered to be a suitable subject - see particularly entry #2 "Genealogical entries" in WP:NOTDIR, which is itself part of the rather long list WP:What Wikipedia is not by which we try to keep Wikipedia on course as an encyclopedia.

I've been reviewing your edits and you really do need to read WP:VERIFY and WP:RS. In particular, for academic articles few websites would be suitable. Certainly [1], the web page of the Beirut International Dental Meeeting, is not a reliable source for anything but the meeting. The New World Encyclopedia is not a reliable source, it takes our articles and gives them a Unification Church slant. This] isn't a reliable source either, and [2] is an old copy of our article on the subject and we never use our articles as sources. If you want to know if a source is suitable, you can ask me or at WP:RSN. I suggest that you keep in mind those Wikipedia rules, "no original research" and "cite your sources". You see, when your source for changing Gerald's name to "Le Gros" turned out to be a manuscript about a quite different "Le Gros", it made me think you're fibbing (just like the Windsors).

Maybe you aren't! But I have Gerald's autobiography at home (I have it in front of me right now) and he himself says, on the first page, that his father was William "de Barri". Well, his autobiography is a really good source. If you say it's wrong, you have to cite a good source too.

What I'm saying is that if you add unexpected information to Wikipedia, you need to be able to cite real sources that really support you. Otherwise, sooner or later, someone's sure to change it back, and your work will have been wasted.
