Shouldn't the Category:Wikipedian new page patrollers strictly mean holders of the NPR right? Thoughts? I wondered about that, which is why i stopped after adding only 2 of the userboxes. On the other hand, that category already includes some other templates. Maybe you can create a table in the railway line article for all the stations. Hi Poli, This could be a paid editing job, but it might not be. What i've done previously with similar requests, is to say that i prefer communication to be on my wikipedia talk page, and not via off-wiki channels. Why did you move it to draftspace? Impossible for List of television and radio stations in Iloilo City and List of television and radio stations in Zamboanga City. The other 2 mentioned articles have no sources and nominated for deletion. @SeanJ 2007: The article was unreferenced and clearly not ready to be in wikipedia mainspace. Regarding the other links that you sent, please see WP:OTHERSTUFF. I saw their AFD's, voters said there it meets WP:NLIST even though it has no sources and there's categories. It is also the same at Draft:List of television and radio stations in Baguio City. I went though the NPP log and for some reason I unreviewed that article but reviewed all the other ones before and after it. @The Ocean: I've looked at both. Most of the sources either seem to have bare mentions of the film (along with other films shown in the same festival), OR are database sites. That said, i've not delved too deeply into WP:NFILM, as yet. I've watchlisted both pages so that i can learn from a reviewer who is more conversant with film articles. Hi Poli, I created a redirect for Devendra Singh Patel to Devendra Patel. You can do the same for other name variations where an article already exists for the subject. If I understand you correctly, you aren't able to find sources for the other three names. If so, you can use the two sources that i mentioned in Wikipedia:WikiProject Indian politics/Open tasks/Politicians/Madhya Pradesh MLAs, since they are all winners in the 2018 MP election. Aruna Vivek Tiwari seems to have been a runner up in Sirmour Assembly constituency. Non-notable since she didn't win. Dr. Dhyansingh Solanki's article already seems to exist as Jhuma Solanki. 1. create a redirect from the redlinked name to the created article. This is easier.

Hello. I've noticed that you moved an article about Praha-Eden railway station to "Drafts" stating that it "is not suitable as written to remain published". (I explicitly marked the article as stub.) I created this article from a similar article about another railway station on the same line. May I ask why the article about Eden station has been moved to drafts when the other one is ok (even though it's sourced by only one link that's permanently dead). I don't see why the article about Eden cannot stay in the main namespace. Of course there's room for expansion. Hi Nazgul02, I moved it to draft since it was completely unreferenced. As you may know, lately there was a consensus on WP that railway stations are not inherently notable, and need to pass WP:GNG. The other article that you mentioned is very old and falls out of range of articles that can be draftified. Hi, the upcoming election articles are getting updated now. like 2022 Gujarat Legislative Assembly election and HP. What is your position regarding the survey poll section in these articles. Please check the example of 2022 United States Senate election in Ohio#Polling. I want to draw your attention towards the detailed data transparency and the reliablity of the their polls vs Indian polls. Our op polls are way off the mark, while their polls are much closer to the final results. Indian polls never discuss their error percentage, and almost never discuss how off the mark their previous predictions were.

I have had long discussions on the UP election page about them. You can refer to my elaborate comments on Talk:2022 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly election, where I have argued in detail with many quotes and references. If there are reliable pollsters like Nielson they release the error % along with sample size like they do for US elections (check link above). In the absence of these details, it is not apple to apple comparison. IndiaTV is a pro BJP site. Indian opinion polls in my opinion are nothing more than political ads. Notice that TheHindu a reliable source does not do opinion polls, nor Indian Express, we should not be giving coverage to paid news. Which is why I am strongly against adding them into the election page. What should be done, how to proceed for a larger consensus on this? I am not sure where I can start this discussion. WT:POI ? WP:RSN? where do you suggest. On RSN a strong case can be made that polls by Godi media are not reliable. Yes, that was a lot of work, that I do not intend to repeat again for every election. Which is why I was looking to get a larger consensus over what kind of polls can be added and what not. Do you think such a consensus at RSN will be enforceable on the election pages? I myself did not know about the details US pollsters published until some user on the talk page told me to check other countries pages. It was an eye opening moment. I see that the Indian users are trying to copy the graph and table without considering the basic premise that the Error% sample space are missing.

If reliable pollsters like Nielson who release error % and sample size publish the polls for Indian elections (like they did for 2014 LS, they can possibly be added). But politically inclined news channels doing paid survey should not be promoted on Wikipedia. Many politicians and ECI say that such polls are done to influence the voters, to create an artificial wave. This is the basic premise and I kept off those polls from the article till the date of elections. After which I stopped removing them. I posted here to seek suggestions as well as do a straw poll of where you stand on the question of allowing these op polls. The latter question remains unanswered by you. I'm pretty sure most of them aren't considered as reliable sources for political stuff. In general, i would support your proposal of not allowing such polls. I don't think that you'll see a reduction in revert work even with this though. Poli, some things that you are missing:

1. add an infobox. This is easier when you are creating the article than later.
2. add to the right wikiprojects (india, biography, Madhya pradesh/other state, and indian politics), you can use WP:RATER to make this easier.
3. add the correct MLA category: Category:Madhya Pradesh MLAs 2018–2023, in this case.

Much has happened since the last newsletter over two months ago. The open letter finished with 444 signatures. The letter was sent to several dozen people at the WMF, and we have heard that it is being discussed but there has been no official reply. A related article appears in the current issue of The Signpost. If you haven't seen it, you should, including the readers' comment section.

Awards: Barnstars were given for the past several years (thanks to MPGuy2824), and we are now all caught up. The 2021 cup went to John B123 for leading with 26,525 article reviews during 2021. To encourage moderate activity, a new "Iron" level barnstar is awarded annually for reviewing 360 articles ("one-a-day"), and 100 reviews earns the "Standard" NPP barnstar. About 90 reviewers received barnstars for each of the years 2018 to 2021 (including the new awards that were given retroactively). All awards issued for every year are listed on the Awards page. Check out the new Hall of Fame also.

Software news: Novem Linguae and MPGuy2824 have connected with WMF developers who can review and approve patches, so they have been able to fix some bugs, and make other improvements to the Page Curation software. You can see everything that has been fixed recently here. The reviewer report has also been improved.

Suggestions:

• There is much enthusiasm over the low backlog, but remember that the "quality and depth of patrolling are more important than speed".
• Reminder: an article should not be tagged for any kind of deletion for a minimum of 15 minutes after creation and it is often appropriate to wait an hour or more. (from the NPP tutorial)
• Reviewers should focus their effort where it can do the most good, reviewing articles. Other clean-up tasks that don't require advanced permissions can be left to other editors that routinely improve articles in these ways (creating Talk Pages, specifying projects and ratings, adding categories, etc.) Let's rely on others when it makes the most sense. On the other hand, if you enjoy doing these tasks while reviewing and it keeps you engaged with NPP (or are guiding a newcomer), then by all means continue.
• This user script puts a link to the feed in your top toolbar.

Backlog:

Saving the best for last: From a July low of 8,500, the backlog climbed back to 11,000 in August and then reversed in September dropping to below 6,000 and continued falling with the October backlog drive to under 1,000, a level not seen in over four years. Keep in mind that there are 2,000 new articles every week, so the number of reviews is far higher than the backlog reduction. To keep the backlog under a thousand, we have to keep reviewing at about half the recent rate!

Good evening MPGuy2824, I would like to request for a review of Draft:2022 Durand Cup knockout stage before 5th September because the knockout rounds would begin by next week and it would be beneficial for the visitors as well as the editors to edit 2022 Durand Cup as there are no. of templates connected to the aforementioned page. The knockout stages would get a lot more press (i'd assume). You should be able to add a couple of lines of text for each of the matches. More for the semis and the finals. There is no rush: Wikipedia will never be complete. From what i know of the AfC process, i don't think there will be any disadvantage due to previous rejections, since you are improving the article in the meantime. That said, the reasoning of the AfC reviewers (about it being merge-worthy) kind of makes sense. Why don't you think about doing that itself? The 2021 knockout article is also prime material for merging, btw. I'm pretty sure that an editor will come by in a few months, and request a merge to the parent article. I am actually not opting for it because of continuity. Since 2021 Durand Cup knockouts have an independent page, that's why I want to make an independent page of 2022 one's too. If this its rejected, then I wouldn't continue anymore and merge it. I am still confused how the previous edition got accepted. As far I remember, it didn't even enter AfC review process, that's why I don't have any information about the process works. My guess is that there was another guy editing that page with me and he was a senior editor, so maybe he had some power or free pass maybe. Hi Hussain, see the first few lines in the yellow AfC review box, at the top of both articles, it says "Review waiting, please be patient. This may take 4 months or more, since drafts are reviewed in no specific order. There are 2,497 pending submissions". That said, these are clear passes for notability and shouldn't have much problem once an AfC reviewer gets to them.

Also, you are now an WP:autoconfirmed user, and you can create articles directly in mainspace. Hi TakingOver, since there already is an article for Enbekshikazakh District, I assume that you want to add the content from your sandbox to that one. I've done a few copy edits and have the following suggestions:

1. Add the translated title of every Russian/Kazakh source.
2. If possible, add a few relevant (translated) sentences as a quote to the ref tag. This makes it easier for future readers and editors to verify content.
3. Yup an MLA is notable, but you may as well improve it while it is in draft space and let it pass through AfC. You can do the following:

1. Add better sources. currently there is one primary source and one source which has 2 sentences about him. There must be news articles referring to him. Also you can add the ECI results source
2. Add the relevant infobox and fill it up with the mla tenure details
3. Add election result/s. See Rajendrasingh Baghel for an example.
4. Add the right categories (which will only become relevant once the article is back to mainspace)
5. See if you can find a photo of the subject that is allowed to be used on Wikipedia.
6. 1. You should think about using use WP:TWINKLE.

Contributor008, notability has a different definition on Wikipedia as compared to normal life. If you really think this should be a separate article, then I suggest that you do the following, in order.

1. Add a few encyclopedic, well-sourced sentences about Ganga Jal to the most appropriate section within the Ganges article.
2. Expand on this till it becomes two or three paragraphs. Then convert it into a sub-section.
3. Read WP:SPLIT and propose a split of the Ganga jal topic to its own article.

Editors usually change the class rating within Stub/Start/C/B without asking anyone else. You might want to look at Wikipedia:Content assessment, if you want a detailed explanation, but I use the User:Evad37/rater script while adding Wikiprojects to articles. If you are going to look into the chart, I've wanted to see a second line on the graph, probably using a different scale on the right that would show either the number of new articles (additions to the queue) or the number of reviews (subtractions). The current chart just gives the backlog but doesn't tell the whole story. Maybe keep that in mind while you investigate. It depends on what is your source. Sometimes the laws are online, in which case it is "cite web". If you are citing a gazette where the new law was published, then it would be a journal. Yes, we want to change script to change the message left for the article author. Evad37 is inactive right now and I don't know if/when he will return. He has not responded on-wiki or to emails. You have probably seen the VP discussion about most people not customizing the default message. Kudpung and I have a created a new help page, and we want to link that in the message and have a series of check boxes for the script user to be able to create a specific message without typing a lot of text. If you can do this, we could either post a request at Wikipedia:Interface administrators' noticeboard and see if anyone is willing to update Evad's script (that would take weeks), or you could just create a fork called Move to Draft (NPP) or something like that and we would ask everyone to start using your version. I have a screenshot of the proposed new message dialog box. It would probably be easiest for me to just email that to you.   MB, go to the test wikipedia and login with your normal wiki credentials. Then add "importScript('User:MPGuy2824/MoveToDraft.js' );" to your common.js file there. Create a new page and try to use "Move to Draft". It looks really good. Just a couple of points:

1. with the Other: Additional reason, do we really need the editable text box. Perhaps just a 'Preview' would be enough in that box.
2. If we use the text window just as a message preview, then the red Please add to or replace the default notification text so the author understands your specific reasons for draftification! is no longer needed. Keeps things simple.
3. 'Other' should start with a checkbox, not the O from other as a radio button.
4. The top instruction is missing: "Add tags first if you wish, then check any or all boxes that match the issues with this article, then submit the message". That might look nice in red italic

@Kudpung I think we should keep the Other/additional reason text box as is because it keeps all the "input" together - not mixed between the radio buttons and the "preview window". I agree it should have a check box too (#3), the red message at the bottom is not needed (#2), the top instruction is missing (#4). MPGuy, I notice that if you type in an additional reason, it doesn't show up in the preview box, unless you check one of the buttons after you type in the text. Can you refresh the preview after hitting <enter> when you add the text? Well, it would work either way. I don't see a big reason to make the preview box un-editable, especially if it's not trivial to do so. Looking at it again, it's not really a "preview" box at all because it doesn't show how the message looks like after the wikimarkup is processed - it shows the raw wikitext message constructed from the radio buttons - so it kind of seems like it should be editable. I lead towards leaving it editable, but it's not a big deal. I naturally understand that not everyone shares my view that things are best kept as simple as possible but highly functional - especially as so many users are non-native English speakers, even some of our NPPers, or speak less common variations of Engvar.   Looks pretty good. The only difference I see with Kudpung's image is the instructions at the time are different shades of red and are more separated. "Please ensure draftifying is appropriate" is policy, and the other part are more instructions on how to use the script, so it may be better if they were a little more distinct.

  Another minor thing I noticed is that if you click a button, then unclick, the corresponding text does not disappear until you click a different button. That's not really intuitive, if you can improve that. But overall, I think it is almost done. Great job. @Kudpung I think "Notification message" is fine, because it is NOT a preview of the final marked-up text with the signature expanded and the clickable links, etc. It we said it was a "Preview", I think we would get more questions about why the preview box wasn't showing an actual preview as is normal in other tools (e.g. Twinkle). Maybe in a future WMF version, this can become an actual preview. Everything in the latest version looks good to me. How does someone change an article to B-Class, because for Wikiproject Spaceflight, it says that an article has not been checked against a quality scale. Please link an article so that I can be more specific. In general, for each wikiproject you'll have to find their assessment scale. For WPSpaceflight, it seems to be at Wikipedia:WikiProject Spaceflight/Assessment#Quality scale.

What you did was essentially ok, but i would add refs to a particular report and not to the page that lists all the transfer reports. After a year or two, your ref will not be valid as the transfers for 2023 will probably exit the first page.

That said, you'll also have to show notability for the topic of the list itself. Yeah I think our workflow previously was that it's encouraged that we give it to the top reviewer numerically, but we have the coordinators look at the numbers and double check everything. That way we can spot any issues with a bot taking the #1 spot or any other issues that might arise. I'd be fine with it going to Onel if he is the #1 numeric reviewer again. Interface administrators are usually hesitant to redirect user scripts without the authorization of the original creator, for security reasons. The people that downloaded that script may trust Evad but may not trust the new maintainer. It's up to the patrolling intadmins though. Also redirecting user scripts can be tricky... if that idea is pursued, make sure to test carefully. The normal #REDIRECT notation may not work for user scripts; you may need something like importScript('blah') instead. You can always post at WP:IANB or ping an intadmin for additional advice. There is a third way too: Instead of replacing Evad's script completely with the message, we can just add an alert, before the main part of the script starts. This way, if folks want to continue with that script, they can; at least they are informed of the newer version. Was this what you meant, MB? This would be a much smaller change, and I'd guess that int-admins would have less of an issue with this change. 2022 Awards

Onel5969 won the 2022 cup for 28,302 article reviews last year - that's an average of nearly 80/day. There was one Gold Award (5000+ reviews), 11 Silver (2000+), 28 Iron (360+) and 39 more for the 100+ barnstar. Rosguill led again for the 4th year by clearing 49,294 redirects. Minimum deletion time: The previous WP:NPP guideline was to wait 15 minutes before tagging for deletion (including draftification and WP:BLAR). Due to complaints, a consensus decided to raise the time to 1 hour. To illustrate this, very new pages in the feed are now highlighted in red. (As always, this is not applicable to attack pages, copyvios, vandalism, etc.)

New draftify script: In response to feedback from AFC, the The Move to Draft script now provides a choice of set messages that also link the creator to a new, friendly explanation page. The script also warns reviewers if the creator is probably still developing the article. The former script is no longer maintained. Discussions with the WMF The PageTriage open letter signed by 444 users is bearing fruit. The Growth Team has assigned some software engineers to work on PageTriage, the software that powers the NewPagesFeed and the Page Curation toolbar. WMF has submitted dozens of patches in the last few weeks to modernize PageTriage's code, which will make it easier to write patches in the future. This work is helpful but is not very visible to the end user. For patches visible to the end user, volunteers such as Novem Linguae and MPGuy2824 have been writing patches for bug reports and feature requests. The Growth Team also had a video conference with the NPP coordinators to discuss revamping the landing pages that new users see.

Wikipedia:Mass editing is a relevant essay. Like everything on Wikipedia, it depends .... in this case, on the kind of edits (cosmetic or not) and the rate. I just tried to upload one of my own drawings to Wikipedia and some filter blocked it. I have been editing on the DVD+RW page, which contained a lot of misinformation about the origins of the format. (I should know, as I have the fundamental patent on it and can back that up.) So, my drawing, which has appeared in my papers over the years, is somehow seen as unseemly by the filters. Not sure how to fix this.

What is the point of your action other than to make Wikipedia unwelcoming (something that the site is now notorious for). I created the page AlphaPolis, so that I and others can gradually improve it. It was all dry facts (and identical to the Japanese and French Wikipedia pages). I cannot speak about the Japanese or French wikipedias, but the english Wikipedia has a high notability standard for companies (see WP:NCORP, which might have been updated since you've joined wikipedia). @Javeuv: Welcome to Wikipedia! You can read WP:RVAN about how to respond to vandalism. Looking at your contributions, I assume that you are talking about the article Human rights in Dubai. You took the right first step in undoing the vandalism. Usually, we warn the user also. I've just done that in this case, so no need to warn them again, unless the behaviour is repeated. In general, there are 3 or 4 levels of warnings given before the next step, which is to inform admins about the issue. COI editing is strongly discouraged, but the way you've requested for the article's creation is fine. Just that nomination link may not be enough to meet Wikipedia's notability standards for authors. @456legend: Ah, so many of the constituencies cover regions that are in 2 or more districts. It would be hard to show districts in the way that is currently shown in that table. You might have to move the district info to a new column. As you can see in the message that was left on your talk page, it was draftified because it has no sources. It has nothing to do with the draft being about a Romanian sport or how much you love it. Please add a few reliable, independent sources (that talk about the topic in-depth) to the draft. @Portageterriers: the new logo that you are trying to add to Portage Terriers is quite low-resolution. I would wait until a higher resolution image is available. In any case, you'll have to change the image mentioned in the infobox to do what you are trying to do. (Replace "Portage Terriers logo.svg" with the new image name). Also, your username might be a problem. BTW I'm looking for a collaborator or two, someone(s) to help on wiki coding or how to appeal to a wider/interest group. Example: I just discovered there was a near 'Me Too' in 1992, but it died down almost without a whimper: Barbara Noel's book "You Must Be Dreaming," about years-long drugging and sexual abused by her psychiatrist, Jules H. Masserman, was made into a movie (Betrayal of Trust 1994), but there is NO mention of either HERE. Even Ann Landers wrote about it in the day: THE MASSERMAN AFFAIR OUT IN THE OPEN AT LAST!
