Don't want to embarrass you but this "World Chess Federation" (WCF) is an absolute joke. I'd never even heard of them before today, nor have I heard of their "world champion" Stan Vaughan. The world chess governing body is called FIDE. MaxBrowne (talk) 13:06, 27 October 2013 (UTC)
Chess players never talk about the "WCF". The change I made was because 14,000 sq yd is not an exact measure, so to convert it to 11,706 (if I recall correctly) sq m was overprecise, hence I knocked down the precision in the {{convert}} template.
I'm a long-time WP editor (User:SimonTrew) but have lately been editing under IP as I am using a shared computer. Hello and Good Morning!
I took your good advice and referred the article on fault Current Limiters
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Fault_current_limiter
to WikiProject Physics for advice on whether there should be a new article FCL, which reference both this article, which should be re-titled Superconducting FCL, and a new article on the mainstream technology (rectifier or solid state FCLs);
or
can I suggest recommend and begin a re-write of the current article in a more balance manner.
I am happy with whatever advice WikiProject Physics gives. Thanks for your help! 1capybara (talk) 09:30, 7 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]__DTELLIPSISBUTTON__{"threadItem":{"timestamp":"2014-01-07T09:30:00.000Z","author":"1capybara","type":"comment","level":1,"id":"c-1capybara-2014-01-07T09:30:00.000Z-Fault_Current_Limiters","replies":["c-Askedonty-2014-01-11T16:43:00.000Z-1capybara-2014-01-07T09:30:00.000Z"]}}-->
Thank you very much, and, you're welcome! I do not think that I can be considered as a senior editor - my editcount! - but I took some pleasure and interest in reviewing that subject. I am not at all a specialist on the subject, I only collected what documents are available without searching in depth, e.g. I did not enquire about the companies. I expect that the article will go the way of a rewriting the way you are suggesting it. --Askedonty (talk) 16:43, 11 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]__DTELLIPSISBUTTON__{"threadItem":{"timestamp":"2014-01-11T16:43:00.000Z","author":"Askedonty","type":"comment","level":2,"id":"c-Askedonty-2014-01-11T16:43:00.000Z-1capybara-2014-01-07T09:30:00.000Z","replies":[]}}-->
Happy New Year, and welcome to a special double issue of Books & Bytes. We've included a retrospective on the changes and progress TWL has seen over the last year, the results of the survey TWL participants completed in December, some of our plans for the future, a second interview with a Wiki Love Libraries coordinator, and more. Here's to 2014 being a year of expansion and innovation for TWL!
The Wikipedia Library completed the first 6 months of its Individual Engagement grant last week. Here's where we are and what we've done:
Increased access to sources: 1500 editors signed up for 3700 free accounts, individually worth over $500,000, with usage increases of 400-600%
Deep networking: Built relationships with Credo, HighBeam, Questia, JSTOR, Cochrane, LexisNexis, EBSCO, New York Times, and OCLC
New pilot projects: Started the Wikipedia Visiting Scholar project to empower university-affiliated Wikipedia researchers
Developed community: Created portal connecting 250 newsletter recipients, 30 library members, 3 volunteer coordinators, and 2 part-time contractors
Tech scoped: Spec'd out a reference tool for linking to full-text sources and established a basis for OAuth integration
Broad outreach: Wrote a feature article for Library Journal's The Digital Shift; presenting at the American Library Association annual meeting
1. my AFC [[1]] (on my talk page, article for creation on "Critical Power") was rejected for reasons I disagree with, that it "reads like an advertisement" even though it mentions 5-10 different providers of this product including the free, open-source Linux product. How can this read like an advertisement? Who do I appeal this to, and is this worth appealing, or am I thinking wrong?
2. how do I edit the article on [[2]] "Fault Current Limiter" offline, a little each day, and saving it as I go, without publishing it until it is ready and "finished." I'm thinking the only way is to copy the current page in Word, edit and save it there, then paste it into the published article when its "finished." Is that the best way to do it a little each day?
3. Thanks for your advice :) 1capybara (talk) 11:21, 20 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]__DTELLIPSISBUTTON__{"threadItem":{"timestamp":"2014-01-20T11:21:00.000Z","author":"1capybara","type":"comment","level":1,"id":"c-1capybara-2014-01-20T11:21:00.000Z-two_questions_please_:)","replies":[]}}-->

Hello, Askedonty. Voting in the 2016 Arbitration Committee elections is open from Monday, 00:00, 21 November through Sunday, 23:59, 4 December to all unblocked users who have registered an account before Wednesday, 00:00, 28 October 2016 and have made at least 150 mainspace edits before Sunday, 00:00, 1 November 2016.
The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
If you wish to participate in the 2016 election, please review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. I'm sorry μηδείς, I should of course have given you the hint. It's the copy-paste of an html page ( an archived google search about hapax apophthegm, subject which was puzzling for me and remains so). You could paste it into a text file which you give a .html extension and open the file into a web browser using the File->Open menu. You may prefer not to as too much gibberish for you. As the send mail page is not tailored for including attachments I could not send a screenshot instead, or it would have been that old-style gif, with the same copy-paste save-file open-browser constraints anyway. --Askedonty (talk) 11:20, 27 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]__DTELLIPSISBUTTON__{"threadItem":{"timestamp":"2017-08-27T11:20:00.000Z","author":"Askedonty","type":"comment","level":2,"id":"c-Askedonty-2017-08-27T11:20:00.000Z-Medeis-2017-08-26T21:28:00.000Z","replies":["c-Medeis-2017-08-28T17:43:00.000Z-Askedonty-2017-08-27T11:20:00.000Z"]}}-->

Oh well. It's written expression in general I sometimes have to recognize I have notable shortcomings in. Add a bad education, bar a lot of satisfying experience with etiquette. But it's true, I once developped an auto-translator. Hey - I don't know if you saw my reply during our discussion about PSYOP, but it looks like the discussion was archived, before I ever heard back from you. (The discussion can still be seen here - Wikipedia:Reference desk/Archives/Humanities/2018 September 12) I'm curious what the "Army paragraph" and "Navy paragraph" are that you referred to. It's unclear to me where these "paragraphs" are from. Are you referring to paragraphs in a military manual? A news article? A Wikipedia article? Let me know! Thanks! --Jpcase (talk) 12:06, 20 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]__DTELLIPSISBUTTON__{"threadItem":{"timestamp":"2018-09-20T12:06:00.000Z","author":"Jpcase","type":"comment","level":1,"id":"c-Jpcase-2018-09-20T12:06:00.000Z-Followup_on_PSYOP","replies":["c-Askedonty-2018-09-20T20:00:00.000Z-Jpcase-2018-09-20T12:06:00.000Z"]}}-->
Hi Jpcase! I'm sorry, "paragraph" was the wrong expression. I had done just like yourself had - that is, skim through the article. I found several and more examples of PSYOP units called "Psychological Operations unit name" in some pair of articles linked to the former, I do not know which. Later I looked back again at the article and I was indeed surprised by the contrast between the two sentences ( that's "the first occurence of the term in the sub-section", not paragraph ). One step after only I read the sentences properly - for real, and I found logical there was given "noun" status to the one indirectly referring to the units named using the expression ( as elements is used meaning units ). --Askedonty (talk) 20:00, 20 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]__DTELLIPSISBUTTON__{"threadItem":{"timestamp":"2018-09-20T20:00:00.000Z","author":"Askedonty","type":"comment","level":2,"id":"c-Askedonty-2018-09-20T20:00:00.000Z-Jpcase-2018-09-20T12:06:00.000Z","replies":[]}}-->

Please, can you search if Friedrich Fromm, Günther Korten, Heinz Brandt, Rudolf Schmundt, Walther Buhle, Ernst John von Freyend, Henning von Thadden, Heinz Buchholz, and Leonhard von Moellendorff were devoted nazists (inscripted to the Nazi Party) or even them in contrary to the Nazi regime? In Operation Valkirye (film 2008), who were the captain and the sergeant of Reich centraline during that operation? Are there information about Sergeant Kolbe's life, the guard of Wolf's Liar in July 1944? Hello! Voting in the 2024 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 2 December 2024. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.
If you wish to participate in the 2024 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. Hi, can you tell me a little more on how you got from "Griffiths phase means..." to "Action at a distance is solved?" I can't jump that far.

Hi! In truth I did not mean to say that the question would be today solved. Being personally unable to admit there would to be anything "spooky" at whatever level in physics, and so obvious it seems that nobody would have reclaimed the term per se at that point in modern times, my intimate conviction rather wants the "spooky" word to have been originally the expression of dismay between classes of scientists, and classes of though which coincidentally found a subject for anchorage.
My enthousiasm was awakened during the thread realizing that Griffiths' profile implied that a discussion more directly understandable in today's words must have taken place, which I've found. Griffiths' phase theory per se probably does not have to be taken into consideration there, but it's an interesting point. On the other hand, gravity still applies at nanometric levels ( as in Directed percolation which is why I went on to keep focusing on search result #16). --Askedonty (talk) 14:17, 27 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]__DTELLIPSISBUTTON__{"threadItem":{"timestamp":"20241127141700","author":"Askedonty","type":"comment","level":2,"id":"c-Askedonty-20241127141700-Gongula_Spring-20241127021500","replies":[]}}-->
