The Marks quarter, a collection of three tall structures in Vienna's 3rd district, serves as the primary base of the building. The lighthouse amid the towers, the one for which Doka provided the formwork "crampons" for the facade section next to the adjacent Q-Tower. 400 apartments, each featuring a unique design and personal outdoor space, create a permeable facade. A distinctive structure that will enhance the architectural scenery, yet poses a challenge for the firms engaged in the construction. In contrast to a mining tunnel, the skyscraper can be accessed from every direction. Natural elements like wind and rain storm, and the balcony components, which extend out like overhangs, must be shaped following a set pattern, with varying fall heights.[3]
The residential tower was designed by the architectural firm StudioVlayStreeruwitz and built from 2019 onwards jointly by the Housing Association for Private Employees (WBV-GPA) and Neues Leben. It is scheduled to open in 2023. The construction costs were estimated at around 110 million euros.[4]
The tower features vertical surfaces that consists of loggias, winter gardens, and balconies stacked vertically. The structure features four elevators that offer central access to the residences. A car sharing option is also provided within the mobility concept. Packages can be delivered, collected, or stored at a convenience center.[5]
Of the total of 402 apartment units housed in the tower, 178 are available for rent. The remaining 224 apartments are privately financed and are all located on the upper floors.[4][6]
The One shares the base zone with the neighboring skyscrapers Helio Tower and Q-Tower.[7]
