The Fairly OddParents: A New Wish is an American animated television series based on and serving as a continuation to the Nickelodeon animated series The Fairly OddParents (2001–2017) created by Butch Hartman. It is the third series in the franchise, after The Fairly OddParents: Fairly Odder (2022). The series premiered with a sneak peek on May 17, 2024, with the series officially premiering on May 20.[1][2] The series will also premiere on Netflix in the United States and internationally as a Netflix original series on November 14.[3][4]
Premise
Serving as a continuation of the original series, The Fairly OddParents: A New Wish tells the story of Hazel Wells, a 10-year-old girl who has recently moved to the city of Dimmadelphia because of her father's new job. On top of being in an unfamiliar environment, it is also the first time she has been without her older brother, Antony, who left to start college, leaving her feeling lonely and unsure of herself. All that changes when their pink-and-green-haired neighbors next door reveal themselves to be no ordinary neighbors, but fairy godparents Cosmo and Wanda, who come out of retirement to become Hazel's fairy godparents.[5][6]
Hazel Wells,[5] an adventurous 10-year-old girl with unique interests and an even wilder imagination. Cosmo and Wanda leave retirement to become her fairy godparents to grant her every wish as a result of her brother Antony leaving for college, making her feel lonely.[7]

Lezah, the Anti-Fairy counterpart of Hazel created when Hazel gets certified as an official fairy at a Fairy Convention, inadvertently becoming a fairy as a result.

Denzel Crocker, a deranged former elementary school teacher and the arch-enemy of Hazel's predecessor, Timmy Turner. Crocker still retains his obsession with fairies and is determined to prove their existence. Alazraqui reprises his role from the original series.
Periwinkle "Peri" (formerly known as Poof), Dev's fairy godfather and the now grown-up son of Cosmo and Wanda. He was voiced by Tara Strong in the original series. His name was changed from "Poof" to "Peri" because the former is a derogatory slur for gay men in the United Kingdom.[15]
Elkniwirep "Irep" (formerly known as Foop), the Anti-Fairy counterpart of Peri and the now grown-up son of Anti-Cosmo and Anti-Wanda. Bauza reprises his role from the original series.

Alani Ilongwe as Brewster Johnson, Angela's former college crush.
Legna Cedillo as the Nmusic Phairy, a fairy that is responsible for music-related wishes.
Jenifer Lewis as Mother Nature, the goddess of nature.
Morla Gorrondona as Pepperlyn Monroosevelt, a ghost fairy who aspires to become a famous TV star.
The CG animation was produced by Giant Animation in Dublin.
On June 4, 2024, showrunner Lindsay Katai confirmed that the show's viewership on Netflix will determine if a second season is greenlit by Nickelodeon.[22]
Quirky ten-year-old Hazel Wells finds it difficult to adjust to her new life after she moves to Dimmadelphia and her older brother leaves for college until she finds out her neighbors, Cosmo and Wanda, are fairy godparents in disguise.
After Jorgen Von Strangle finds out Cosmo and Wanda came out of retirement to be Hazel's fairy godparents, he sends the three to the Fairy DMV (Department of Magical Violations) for wish trials to see if they belong together. If they fail, Hazel will be reassigned to a fairy named Cookie.
Nervous about not fitting in with her new schoolmates, Hazel wishes she were friends with her teachers instead. However, as a result, the teachers start becoming more and more childlike, and with an important test approaching, Hazel rethinks her plan.
When Hazel wishes to see a real dinosaur, Cosmo and Wanda bring their Baryonyx friend, Bary, from the Cretaceous period to the present day. Thinking he needs a reason to be there, Hazel wishes he had a job, but all the jobs he goes to become disasters.
When her friend Jasmine refuses to watch a scary movie with her, Hazel wishes Jasmine was brave. However, this ends up releasing Jasmine's greatest fears, with Jasmine being the only one who can stop them.
When she invites a popular classmate named Winn Harper over for her and Jasmine's sleepover, Hazel wishes her apartment building was a luxury hotel. However, Hazel becomes too busy when the news crew visits to hang out with her friends.
When Hazel wishes to be famous to get voted for a class superlative, Father Time grants her wish, and she becomes famous for 1,500 minutes (25 hours). However, Krentz threatens to transfer Hazel to a school in Hollywood if she does not stop hogging her schoolmates' attention, so she tries to speed up time and end her wish before Krentz can go through with it.
After she finds out Dev hoards all the pudding on Pudding Day, Hazel wishes everyone had an unlimited supply of pudding. It ends up turning all the students into zombies, and with Hazel wishing for pudding after a class picture, the students go on a rampage, searching for more.
It's School Spirit Week, but when her mother is not around to do her hair, Hazel wishes her hair had spirit, which Cosmo misinterprets as a living spirit and ends up giving her hair a life of its own. Diana the Diva gets angry when Hazel uses hair products on her and leaves her head, so a bald Hazel and her fairies search for her runaway hair.
When Hazel's science project does not work, she wishes it did, forcing Cosmo and Wanda to alter the laws of science and the laws of the universe. Bizarre things start happening, and the fairies' wands stop working, so Hazel tries to find a way to save the town and Fairy World, which has lost its magic due to the wish.
When Hazel has to wait another time for her and her father's mystery movie night, she wishes she could solve the mystery of the missing landlady. She later suspects a man who gave the landlady a package and asks him and his family questions about what happened.
When Hazel's friends cannot go to her book club to read the manga Prime Meridian Love due to the school dance, she wishes to go to the dance with the manga's main character, Kennueth. They start preparing for the dance, but when they arrive, Kennueth mistakes Dev for his rival, Duckworth.
When she cannot wait for Dimmadelphia's Planet Palooza, Hazel sleepwishes for people not to be trash monsters, which Cosmo misinterprets as a living trash monster and gives anthropomorphism to a trash dumpster. She later names him "Stanky Danky" and brings him to the event. However, Dev's father, Dale Dimmadone, makes Danky work for him, forcing Hazel to save him.
It's Kindness Day at school, and if everyone in class performs a kind act, the students get a pizza party, but Dev refuses to participate. Hazel wishes for someone to convince Dev to be kind, and Cosmo and Wanda bring back the Pe-az, a pea-pod intergalactic peace negotiating team, but none of their ideas work.
Hazel and Dev are assigned a school project together, forcing each other to get along. They have to do a treasure hunt, and Dev and Hazel have fun, with the latter discovering a softer side to the school bully.
Cosmo reveals that he and Wanda are fairies, and they both get sent to fairy court, with Hazel becoming their lawyer. If Cosmo and Wanda plead guilty, they will be arrested, and Hazel will be reassigned to Cookie.
When she realizes that her mother is too busy with her assistant Beatrish, Hazel wishes Beatrish quit and that she was her replacement (as an adult), and a puppet version of herself fills in for her at school. However, things go awry when the puppet starts acting strangely, and Hazel has to fill in for her mother at a meeting.
Hazel attends the annual Founder's Day Festival, where she wants to make wishes to help other people at the festival and win a trivia contest for a big fancy golden ten-gallon hat. However, doing so gets her in the crosshairs of Dev's father, Dale Dimmadome, who wants to scan the wish energy of the miserable festival goers and use it for profit. Meanwhile, with Dev caught in the middle of all of this, his misery may lead to a meeting that will shake up the status quo forever.
Hazel's father is excited to go to the 96th Annual Parascience Pageant at the Galax Institute to win the "Persistence in the Face of Doubt Award". However, Hazel's handbag (containing Cosmo and Wanda) gets confiscated when they arrive. Hazel then teams up with Denzel Crocker to get back her fairies. Eventually, when Crocker discovers Hazel's fairies, he tries to turn them into fairy dust.
Hazel, Jasmine, and Winn prepare for their sleepover at the Dimmsonian Museum, but Hazel and her fairies grow suspicious of Dev and his oddly new wishing powers. During the night, Dev wants to scare his classmates and wishes the spirit of Viozalia came back to life, but it turns on him and takes over the bodies of his classmates. Dev and Hazel manage to stop Viozalia right after they learn that each other has fairy godparents, and Cosmo and Wanda are reunited with their son Poof/Peri, who was assigned as Dev's fairy godparent following the events of "Lost and Founder's Day".

Hazel has managed to make her one-millionth wish, thus allowing her one rule-free wish, but before she can make it, she finds out that Dev and Irep have taken over Fairy World. All fairies lose their magic, as the power chip on the Big Wand is replaced to favor Anti-Fairies. Fairies are also made known to the citizens of Dimmadelphia, with kids making unlimited rule-free wishes and creating chaos. To make matters worse, without the ability to use their magic, fairies start to suffer from magical build-up, a deadly condition fairies experience, should they stop granting wishes for an extended period of time. Hazel then gathers Antony, Winn, Jasmine, and several creatures she previously wished for to fight against the Anti-Fairies. Dev finds that his father still ignores him even after what he has achieved. After being reminded of the care Peri had given him since they first met, as well as the realization that his actions would end up killing the one being who truly cared for him, Dev returns the original power chip, which Hazel timely places back to avoid the death of their fairies. Fairy World is restored to normal, while the citizens of Dimmadelphia have their newfound knowledge of fairies erased. Dev willingly loses Peri and his memories of magic as punishment for taking over Fairy World. Afterward, Hazel decides her rule-free wish is to have Antony, Winn, and Jasmine keep their memories of fairies.
