To me this template seems to be extremly random and somewhat irrelevant. I think it would be more appropriate to for example rather create several templates based on the sections in the Historical states of Italy article. One template "States in Italy in the year 1494 (before the Italian Wars)", one "States in Italy in the year 1559 (After the Peace of Cateau-Cambresis)". The current template seems to me to be just as random and silly as the "History of Empires" template. -GabaG (talk) 13:50, 5 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]__DTELLIPSISBUTTON__{"threadItem":{"timestamp":"2009-07-05T13:50:00.000Z","author":"Gabagool","type":"comment","level":1,"id":"c-Gabagool-2009-07-05T13:50:00.000Z-Random_template","replies":["c-189.33.40.151-2009-08-20T22:10:00.000Z-Gabagool-2009-07-05T13:50:00.000Z"],"displayName":"GabaG"}}-->
I would have to agree with you. It actually doesn't make much sense. More than random, I don't see its use, at least not in its current state, as half a list of former countries and half a list of former monarchs.--189.33.40.151 (talk) 22:10, 20 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]__DTELLIPSISBUTTON__{"threadItem":{"timestamp":"2009-08-20T22:10:00.000Z","author":"189.33.40.151","type":"comment","level":2,"id":"c-189.33.40.151-2009-08-20T22:10:00.000Z-Gabagool-2009-07-05T13:50:00.000Z","replies":[]}}-->
I removed the fantasy Kingdom of Tavolara. The Grand Duchy didn't exist during Napoleonic era, only the Kingdom of Etruria, after that, it was annexed by France. Elisa Bonaparte title of Grand Duchess was honorific like the ones of Cambacérès and Lebrun in Parma and Piacenza, she ruled as "Grand Duchess of Tuscany" only over the French departments of Arno, Méditerranée and Ombrone.MarcusVetus✠12:13, 11 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]__DTELLIPSISBUTTON__{"threadItem":{"timestamp":"2016-08-11T12:13:00.000Z","author":"MarcusVetus","type":"comment","level":1,"id":"c-MarcusVetus-2016-08-11T12:13:00.000Z-Grand_Duchy_of_Tuscany","replies":[]}}-->
