@Grettoonist, as I said in the edit summary, while #EE2820 is the shade of red officially used, using it as a background color for white text creates a considerable accessibility issue tha outweighs any benefits of "brand cohesion", which is not required of Wikipedia. The shade of red is very bright, and fails WCAG AA, and as such is generally not considered suitable for the presentation of body text. I toned it down to #BE0C00, which fares better. Hi @Remsense, thanks for the notice. When changing the background, I didn't personally view it as appealing to brand cohesion, so much as upholding accuracy, e.g. if the background was for no apparent reason green instead: the shade of red would've been just another layer of nuance to such accuracy. That was just my reasoning to clarify, and I didn't even consider WebAIM. Recognising your argument and wanting to maintain stability and consensus, I approve of your decision and will not challenge it or take it any further than this stage.
Thanks, @Grettoonist22:58, 6 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]__DTELLIPSISBUTTON__{"threadItem":{"timestamp":"20240106225800","author":"Grettoonist","type":"comment","level":2,"id":"c-Grettoonist-20240106225800-Remsense-20240106205800","replies":["c-Remsense-20240107003700-Grettoonist-20240106225800"]}}-->
I used a slightly prickly term—but certainly, we're on the same page. Cheers!
