I believe the defunct Latin Quarter theatre is actually the Princess Theatre which was in the space of the old Latin Quarter nightclub space. Pump Boys and Dinnettes was there. It was also called the Princess Theatre. I think the defunct Broadway Theatres should be broken out of the list. It muddies the waters to include them and there's a lot of red links. Would Henry Miller's Theatre be considered both a demolished theatre and an active theatre? Or would the fact that it's reopened make it no longer demolished? 98.169.36.170 (talk) 00:20, 4 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]__DTELLIPSISBUTTON__{"threadItem":{"timestamp":"2009-05-04T00:20:00.000Z","author":"98.169.36.170","type":"comment","level":1,"id":"c-98.169.36.170-2009-05-04T00:20:00.000Z-Henry_Miller's_Theatre_reopening_under_roundabout","replies":[]}}-->

is it factual that roundabout owns all 3 theatres listed (54, AAtheatre, henry miller's) or do they merely have long-term leases? i flagged "owns" (with "Fact|May 2009" template) in Roundabout Theatre Company's article as well.--71.183.238.134 (talk) 06:34, 20 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]__DTELLIPSISBUTTON__{"threadItem":{"timestamp":"2009-05-20T06:34:00.000Z","author":"71.183.238.134","type":"comment","level":1,"id":"c-71.183.238.134-2009-05-20T06:34:00.000Z-Roundabout_\"owns\"_real_estate","replies":[]}}-->

Below please find the theaters that were recently removed from the list of former houses that should not have been. I have reinstated all of them. please get consensus here before removing them again.

  • Metropolitan Opera House - per the IBDB [1] this theater housed 5 productions between 1901 and 1959 that qualify as Broadway productions. Hence it was a Broadway house for at least part of its life and belongs here.
  • Casino de Paris - per IBDB [2] this theater was on the rooftop of Century Theatre (New York City). They were two distinct Broadway houses but took up the same footprint. The article for Century Thetere mentions both of the spaces. Feel free to edit that article to have a separate section for the Casino de Paris, also know as Coconut Grove and pipe to that, but as it is both theaters should link to the same page.
  • Lewisohn Stadium of City College of New York - per IBDB [3] this space housed two productions that qualify as Broadway productions, one in 1916 and one in 1936. Hence it was a Broadway house for at least part of its life and belongs here.
  • New York Theatre - per IBDB The Olympia Theater had 4 distinct theater spaces, The Concert Hall[4], The Lyric[5], The Music Hall[6], and The Roof Garden[7], and only the Concert Hall did not house productions that qualify as Broadway. All three of these spaces link to our article Olympia Theatre (New York City) as that single article discusses all of the theater spaces in the building. Feel free to edit that article to have separate section for each theater space, but as it is all three theaters should link to the same page.

Good explanations. The Sam H. Harris Theatre still shouldn't pipe to the namesake, though, so I've removed that again. Also, please note that piped links shouldn't have a space between the pipe and the label. oknazevad (talk) 23:14, 15 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]__DTELLIPSISBUTTON__{"threadItem":{"timestamp":"2020-11-15T23:14:00.000Z","author":"Oknazevad","type":"comment","level":2,"id":"c-Oknazevad-2020-11-15T23:14:00.000Z-Found5dollar-2020-11-15T22:40:00.000Z","replies":[]}}-->
