Sharof Rashidov District (until 2016: Jizzakh District ) is a district of Jizzakh Region in Uzbekistan . The capital lies at the town Uchtepa .[ 1] It has an area of 1,320 km2 (510 sq mi)[ 2] and its population is 223,100 (2020 est.).[ 3] It is named after Sharof Rashidov , a leader of Soviet Uzbekistan .
The district consists of 7 urban-type settlements (Uchtepa, Gandumtosh, Qorayantoq, Qangʻli, Toqchiliq, Mulkanlik, Jizzaxlik) and 12 rural communities.[ 1]
