From Odesa, Kokoshko became the champion of Ukraine on August 22, 2019 with a personal best throw of 19.70m.[1]
He began training in Portugal in 2021 under the guidance of the Ukrainian coach Volodymyr Zinchenko.[2] The following summer he marked a new personal best throw of 21.23 metres at an event in Lisbon.[3]
In December 2024, Kokoshko was provisionally suspended from competition for an alleged anti-doping rule violation in relation to whereabouts failures.[7]
