In addition to Belgian war history, a room in the museum is also reserved for testimonies of wars suffered by other European countries, such as the Spanish Civil War (1936–1939), the interwar period (1918–1939), as well the former Soviet Union in World War II (1941–1945). The museum is not only a place for historical heritage about war, but also serves as a place to commemorate wars and to spread a message of peace.
The museum is housed in the building in which the Faux Soir was produced during the German occupation and is supported by the Front de l'Indépendance association.
