Mon Phagun is a 2021 Indian Bengali romantic drama television series which was released in July 2021 on Star Jalsha. The series is produced by Acropoliis Entertainment. It stars Sean Banerjee and Srijla Guha in the lead roles.[1][2][3] It ended its telecast on 21 August 2022.[4]

Synopsis

Rishiraj and Priyadarshini are childhood friends, who fell in love with each other in their youth. They were separated after an accident where Priyadarshini lost her parents.

After 20 years

Priyadarshini has become a tourist guide by the name Pihu Mitra and Rishiraj is an industrialist calling himself Rishi Sen. Rishi has adopted Pihu's elder sister, Rusha, as his sister. The two meet in North Bengal.But they didn't know each other.However,Rishi's family liked pihu very much because of her sweet heart.Pihu's uncle, Anushka'father became very ill.But they couldn't offer him better treatment because of their financial condition.At this moment pihu lost her job became helpless.Rishi's sister ,Rusha offered pihu to join Rishi's office but rishi didn't like the woman who worked in office.At last Rusha convinced rishi.Pihu got the job and started to live in the Rishi's home.Rusha's husband,Soumen who had an evil plan to rule the Rishi's office and house,went to a hotel to smuggle drugs but pihu caught him .The media coveraged the news but they accuused pihu for everything.To save pihu from harassment,Rusha ordered rishi to get married with her.Rishi and pihu forcefully got married but they contract to bear the marry for 6 month.Both of them went to Bristibari for visit where Soumen hired some goons to kill rishi but pihu saved him.They started to trust each other.They overcomed many problems together.The family arranged a picnic where Rittik and soumi planned to close them.They mixed drink on their Being drunked they revealed their real identity which was recording on pihu's phone.Then pihu unfold the truth that rishi is none other than his childhood lover tubai da ,she becomes emotional and went to rishi's office to told him that she is priyodorshini.But no sooner had ,she went there than the office partner of rishi reached there and ordered rishi to Marry his daughter Priyanka,who is in love with him.Priyanka's father told rishi to return his all money .If he unabled to do that he will lose him house , business and everything.Rishi became puzzled because he has feeling for pihu.Pihu vows to marry off pre baby (Priyanka) with rishi within 1 month.Priyanka started to live in rishi's house.she wanted to close with rishi but rishi ignored.Pihu and rishi revealed the truth intention of soumen in front of full family then he was arrested by police.Rusha found that she is pregnant.Somedays passed , Anushka and Rittik fall for each other.But Anushka'father fixed her marriage with hid friend son who was a fraud .But They didn't about that.Pihu knows about the relationship between Rittik and Anushka.on the marriage day,pihu and rishi revealed the truth of the fraud friend and Anushka get married with rittik.on the valentine's day ,a big party held on their house where rishi expressed his love for pihu and proposed her to marry.Priyanka forced to divorce between rishi and pihu.Pihu lured a plan. she signed into the fake documents instead of divorce paper but rishi didn't see that and misunderstood pihu.On the certain day, rishi's family tried hard to manage the huge amount but they failed.Rishi get ready for marriage with a heavy heart.on the contrary,pihu recorded Priyanka's phone call and blackmail her.She went to the dream house of her dad to collect prove and stopped the marriage.But Priyanka's dad attacked on pihu and left her on bathtub with full of water.Rishi became anxious for pihu and went to search her and saved her from death.They collect the prove and the marriage postponed.Becoming heartbroken,Priyanka ran away to commit suicide and pushed by a car.Rishi's grandmother and his maternal brother Uday were on that car.Uday fall for Priyanka and they get married on that night.Mayuk ,rusha's new friend came on the ceremony of Priyanka and uday.After that pihu left the house because of rishi to misunderstood her for divorce.Rishi found that it was not divorce paper.He relise his mistake.He found that pihu is her priyodorshini.on the holi event, rishi and pihu exposed their identity in front of each other and they closed.The personal assistant of rishi's father ,Monika sur who is sister of soumen sur came back and freed soumen sur from jail.The sen family becoming ready for rishi and pibu grand wedding.But in the wedding day , Rishi's mother came back with fake priyodorshini who cared him for many years.But rishi's mother was uninformed about her truth that she was the daughter of mounika and soumen sur sister.Fake priyodorshini proved that she is real and all family members accepted her and rishi and pihu's marriage broken.Rishi misunderstood pihu.soon, it was invented that pihu is real priyodorshini in front of rishi.They are reunioned.But Monika sur told pihu that rishi's father was the killer of her parents murder and rishi knew everything about this but he didn't tell her.monika sur game a gun on her hand to kill rishi.Pihu become devasted and went rishi and accused him.pihu decided to kill herself which was shocked for soumen sur.He shoot on rishi but the bullet passed around pihu and she fall down.Rishi saved her.Rishi' father ,apritim sen Sharma is also alive .soon it revealed that he was not killer .The real culprit was Monika sur.Rishi's uncled was injured in a bar and thought he is dead and everyone accused rishi for that and he was arrested.Pihu saved him from jail.Then all complications solved out and the full family reunited and rishi and pihu get married again.Rusha found her sister pihu.Then the son of apritim sen Sharma and Monika sur, returned and wanted to kill rishi to take revenge and get marry with pihu.Rishi,pihu,rittik, Anushka are went for the honeymoon which was a surprise from their grandmother but Rohan changed the place and took them into a abundant house .There Rohan killed rishi and pushed him into river .The all family members though rishi was no more.4 months passed , now pihu is renowned tourist guide,she went to a tourist place but their bus was blocked by some goons.The hooligans leader was romio,who was look like rishi,pihu surprised but fleed from there.She remained suspect on him went to the village to found the truth but in vain.The sen' family insist pihu to get married with Rohan.But pihu didn't like him so he hired romio for act as rishi.The final attack,pihu and rusha were captured by Rohan and rishi saved them.Then pihu asked romio that he is her tubai da.Romio replied that he is her tubai da or not is not will be not revealed in this season. It has been dubbed in Hindi by the name Do Dil Mil Rahe Hain and telecasted on StarPlus since 12 June 2023.[13]

Reception

Initially, the show did not feature in the top slots of the TRP leaderboard after its debut and was placed on an average rating on Bengali television for the first five months of its airing. Gradually, however, the show increased in its TRP ratings to ultimately reach 2nd highest rating on television, and was one of the most popular shows on Star Jalsha for a long time. But, its trp rating points dropped in late April and led to the end of the show.[14]

Production

The shooting again began in the month of June 2021 after the relaxation of the COVID-19 lockdown in West Bengal.[64][65]
