Miss Grand Yasothon (Thai: มิสแกรนด์ยโสธร) is a Thai provincial beauty pageant which selects a representative from Yasothon province to the Miss Grand Thailand national competition.[1][2][3][4] It was founded in 2016 by an event organizer company Double B Management, chaired by Preemart Hemathulin (ปรีมาศ เหมะธุลิน).[5]

Yasothon representatives have yet to obtain any placement in the Miss Grand Thailand national competition.

History

In 2016, after Miss Grand Thailand began franchising the provincial competitions to individual organizers, who would name seventy-seven provincial titleholders to compete in the national pageant. The license for Yasothon province was granted to an event organizer led by Preemart Hemathulin,[5] who was also the licensee for other 4 Isan contests, including Maha Sarakham, Surin, Nakhon Phanom, and Amnat Charoen.[6] The first Miss Grand Yasothon was co-organized with the four mentioned contests on May 24, 2016, in Mueang Maha Sarakham,[6] where a business management student Patcharee Khunkaew (พัชรี คุณแก้ว) was named Miss Grand Yasothon.[7]

In the early years, the pageant was always co-organized with other provincial pageants.[6][8][9][10][11] It became a stand-alone pageant in 2023[12] under the directorship of Akarapol Waengwan (อัครพล แวงวรรณ).[13]

The pageant was skipped once; in 2021, due to the COVID-19 pandemic in Thailand, the national organizer was unable to organize the national event, and the country representative for the international tournament was appointed instead.[14]
