Moreno's first major competition was the 1991 IAAF World Indoor Championships where she competed in the high jump after jumping 1.75 metres (5 feet 9 inches) she finished qualification in 26th place so didn't qualify for the final,[2] later in the year she also competed in the high jump at the 1991 World Championships in Athletics in Tokyo, she only managed to jump 1.70 metres (5 feet 7 inches) so again failed to reach the final.[3]
The following year Moreno was picked for the 1992 Summer Olympics, she was also chosen to be her countries flag bearer at the opening ceremony,[4] in the high jump she jumped 1.70 metres (5 feet 7 inches) and finished 41st so didn't qualify for the final.[5]
Her personal bests in the event are 1.83 metres outdoors (Monzón 1991) and 1.81 metres indoors (San Sebastián 1990). Both are standing national records.
