This list of synagogues in Serbia contains active, otherwise used and destroyed synagogues in Serbia. The list of Serbian synagogues is not necessarily complete, as only a negligible number of sources testify to the existence of some synagogues.
It is the second largest synagogue in Europe. The huge Art Nouveau-style building was threatened with collapse, making it one of the ten most endangered synagogues in the world. It was renovated between 2014 and 2018.
During Tito's rule of Yugoslavia, like many other synagogues, it was not considered important to preserve religious relics, and the significant building was demolished in 1954. Today, only a few old photographs testify to its existence.
