SM Prime Holdings is the largest shopping retail operator in the Philippines with 78 operating malls totaling a gross floor area of 4.5 million square meters nationwide.^[1]

^ Numerous sources stated that the gross floor area of Ayala Malls Bay Area is 400,000 m² (40 ha)^[6]^[7]^[8]
^ Conflicting reports: Megamall reclaimed the distinction with the opening of the Mega Fashion Hall which reportedly is 150,000 m². The Fashion Hall was adds to the current mall area which was reported to have measured 392,000 m² at the time of its construction. The combined area would be 542,000 m² based from the reported figures.^[13] A later report by Rappler in November 2015 gives a smaller figure saying that Megamall is just 474,000 m² but still the largest at the time of the report.^[16] SM City North EDSA reclaimed the title in December 2015 with a reported new area of 498,000 m²
