Retired teacher John Heffner is a Young Earth Creationist and many-time co-host to Carl Baugh television program Creation in the 21st Century [ 60] who taught pre-calculus at Kilgore[ 61] and chaired the school's math department.[ 62] He rose to notoriety as some popular skeptics have criticized his understanding of mathematical application to the real world as lacking, flawed, and overly cavalier,[ 63] [ 64] [ 65] in particular his use of the Malthusian growth model , which he uses to teach creationism to his audience.
