Karishma Purushottam Shirvoikar (born 4 August 2001) is an Indian professional footballer from Goa, who plays as a forward for Kickstart in the Indian Women's League and represents the India women's national football team.
Early life
Karishma hails from a small sea-side village named Odxel, on the outskirts of Panaji, Goa. Her mother, Anjani, sells vegetables for a living as her father, Purushottam, is sick and stays at home.[1] She studied at Our Lady of the Rosary Higher Secondary school, Dona Paula. She lives in Panaji. In the school, she learnt her basics from coach Carol Fernandes Gomes.[2]
Career
- 2011: She started playing football on the beaches of Goa with boys.
- 2014: She played in the Times Girls Soccer League for her school.[3]
- 2017: Joined Panjim Footballers and helped the club win the Goa Football League for two years.[4]
- 2017: Represented Goa in the Junior Nationals.
- 2018: Under-17 Brics Cup in South Africa.[5]
- 2019: Plays for PVC Parra in the Goan's Women's League;[6] Plays for Panjim Footballers in the Indian Women's League;[7]
- 2019: She was selected by Palamos CF to train in Spain with CD Fontsanta Fatjo, a third division team.[1]
- 2020 to 2021: Played for Gokulam FC;[8][9][10]
- 2021: In September, she was dropped from the Indian team to play friendlies against UAE and Bahrain.[11]
- 2023: In February, she was part of the Indian team that played two friendlies against Nepal.[12]
- 2023: In March, she played two friendly matches against Jordan at the Petra Stadium in Amman, Jordan as preparation for Olympic Qualifier.[13]
- 2023: She played in the AFC Women's Olympic Qualifier Round 1 to be played in Bishkek, Kyrgyz Republic in April.[14][15]
