Kalobje (pronounced [ˈkaːlɔbjɛ] ) is a village in the Municipality of Šentjur , in eastern Slovenia . The settlement, and the entire municipality, are included in the Savinja Statistical Region , which is in the Slovenian portion of the historical Duchy of Styria .[ 4]
The parish church in the settlement is dedicated to the Holy Name of Mary and belongs to the Roman Catholic Diocese of Celje . It was originally a 16th-century building that was restyled in the 17th and 18th centuries.[ 5]
Kalobje is known for the Kalobje manuscript (Slovene : Kalobški rokopis ), an important collection of Slovenian Baroque poetry.[ 6] [ 7]
