Jidon Armani Adams (born December 12, 2000), better known online mononymously as Jidion (styled JiDion) or GiDeon, is an American YouTuber and online streamer.[3][4] He hosted a comedic vlogging and prank-oriented YouTube channel before shifting to Christian-based content in September 2023.
Career
In December 2021, Adams attempted to get an autograph from DeMarcus Cousins during a game in Houston, which prompted a Toyota Center security guard to try and halt the interaction. Cousins told the security guard that he was "taking [his] job too serious" and went on to sign Adams's jersey.[5] In March 2022, he crashed a Harvard University life sciences lecture for a comedy video.[6][7]
In January 2022, Adams was banned from Twitch after being accused of harassing Twitch streamer Pokimane and having his viewers spam her chat with "L + RATIO."[8] Adams later apologized and made amends with Pokimane.[9] In April 2023 Adams announced a partnership with the alt-tech platform Rumble, where he would exclusively live-stream during his Twitch ban.[10] On May 6, 2024, Adams announced that Twitch has reversed their ban and re-instated his channel, to which point he returned to streaming on Twitch.[11]
In September 2023, Adams announced that he would be retiring from making prank videos in turn of following Christianity.[12] The following month, Adams took down all of his prank and non-Christian content from his main and second channels and followed this up with the video, "Why I Deleted All My Videos...",[13] and began making Christian content on a secondary channel, GiDeon.[14] However, he returned a couple of months later to his main channel, and also streams on Twitch under the name JiDionPremium [15] Adams started a series on his main channel called EDP Watch where he catches predators by impersonating as underage minors on dating apps and organizing a meet up where they get arrested by the police.
Controversies and pranks
In October 2021, Adams uploaded a video where he was kicked out of a Best Buy by an employee, due to Adams entering the store shirtless. Later the same day, he brought a large group of other shirtless men to the Best Buy in order to harass the employee who had kicked him out.[16] That same month, he was banned from Wimbledon for his disruptive antics (which included repeatedly sounding an air-horn) during the quarterfinal match between Jannik Sinner and Novak Djokovic.[17]
In September 2022, he was removed from the 2022 US Open men's finals after getting a haircut during the match.[17][18][19][20]
In July 2023, Adams received a lifetime ban from all NBA and WNBA events for a stunt he pulled at a WNBA game which included him sleeping while the match was playing.[21]
