Design
The Freedom 30 is a small recreational keelboat , built predominantly of fiberglass , with wood trim. It has a free-standing fractional rigged sloop rig, an internally-mounted spade-type rudder and a fixed fin keel . It displaces 7,660 lb (3,475 kg) and carries 3,150 lb (1,429 kg) of lead ballast.[ 1] [ 2] [ 5]
The boat is fitted with a Japanese Yanmar 2GM20F diesel engine of 18 hp (13 kW).[ 1] [ 5]
