Devon is a ward [ 2] and suburb[ 3] of Newark-on-Trent , in the Newark & Sherwood district in the county of Nottinghamshire , England. It is one of the seven wards on Newark Town Council .[ 4]
Geography
The River Devon at Newark Marina
Devon takes its name from the nearby River Devon which is directly to the west of the ward. Despite its name, the ward covers the southwestern part of the town. Notable roads include Hawton Road, Grange Road and Churchill Drive.[ 5] It is also close to the Newark Southern Link Road (which is currently under construction).[ 6]
Amenities
The suburb is predominatly residential although there is a Heron Foods on Jersey Street,[ 7] a Lincolnshire Co-op on Churchill Drive[ 8] and a Methodist Church on Beech Avenue.[ 9]
