American conservative political commentator (born 2001)
Brett Cooper (born October 12, 2001) is an American conservative political commentator , media personality, and actress.[ 2] She hosts the YouTube channel The Comments Section with Brett Cooper , produced by The Daily Wire .
Early life and acting roles
Cooper was born on October 12, 2001[ 3] in Bellingham , Washington .[ 4] She was raised in Chattanooga, Tennessee , and when she was ten, she moved to Los Angeles, California , where she began to pursue a professional acting career.[ 5] [ 6] For almost ten years, she had roles in theater, television and film,[ 2] including a role as an extra in the 2012 film Parental Guidance .[ 7]
Cooper was homeschooled for most of her childhood. She studied in University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) , from where she did her major in English literature . She also obtained a minor in business from UC Berkeley's Haas School of Business .[ 8]
She has written for the Foundation for Economic Education and was an ambassador for PragerU and Turning Point USA .[ 2] [ 5] [ 9]
In January 2022, Cooper signed on with The Daily Wire to start a new podcast called The Comments Section with Brett Cooper .[ 10] According to the "About" section of the show's YouTube channel, it is a "viral content and news review show."[ 11]
The Week described Cooper's show as "aim[ing] to capture a Gen Z audience on TikTok and YouTube."[ 12] According to Rachel Leishman at The Mary Sue in October 2023, "The trailer for the show sets it up as if she is reading comments and making a statement on what 'leftists' are saying or pushing back against liberal ideals, but in reality, she just picks a topic of conversation and shares her opinions."[ 13]
Personal life
In October 2023, Cooper became engaged to Alex Tombul,[ 14] the founder of an advertising agency .[ 15] They married in April 2024.[ 15] [ 16]
