Bjørnsund Lighthouse (Norwegian: Bjørnsund fyr) is a coastal lighthouse in Hustadvika Municipality in Møre og Romsdal county, Norway. The lighthouse is located on the small island of Moøya in the Bjørnsund islands, about 5 kilometres (3.1 mi) west of the village of Bud on the mainland.
History
The lighthouse was first established in 1871 and it was automated in 1986. The lighthouse was listed as a protected site in 2000.[1][2]
The 9-metre (30 ft) tall lighthouse emits a white, red, or green light (depending on direction) occulting twice every 8 seconds. The 16,200 candela light can be seen for up to 15.3 nautical miles (28.3 km; 17.6 mi). In 1977, a Racon beacon was established.[3][4]
