Azad Hind Express (Pune - Howrah)

The 12129/12130 Azad Hind Express is a daily Superfast Express train operated by the Central Railway zone of Indian Railways connecting Pune with Howrah.[1] Introduced in 1996, this train service is a tribute to Netaji Subash Chandra Bose, being named after the Azad Hind Fauj which was led by him.[2]

Timings

As per official time table, this train covers 2,014 km (1,251 mi) in 33 hours 25 minutes averaging at 60 km/h (37 mph).

  • 12129 leaves Pune at 18:35 IST and arrives Howrah at 03:55 IST on the third day. [3]
  • 12130 leaves Howrah at 21:40 IST and arrives Pune at 07:05 IST on the third day.[4]

However the actual arrival and departure times may be different as it regularly gets delayed between 4 hours to 7 hours or more. Also, it often gets rescheduled.[5] So passengers are advised to check arrival and departure times before boarding.

Coach Positions

The train has 24 Utkrisht ICF coaches. However the train is supposed to run with LHB coaches from February 15, 2025.[6]
