Ashton-on-Mersey School is a secondary school in Ashton upon Mersey, Greater Manchester, England.

The school is an academy, part of The Dean Trust, which includes Broadoak School and Lord Derby Academy in Huyton. Ashton-on-Mersey School can serve up to 1,561 students aged 11 to 18, however tends to have a lower amount (1421 as of the 2023-2024 Academic year). It is a larger than average school.[2] Ofsted has graded the school "Outstanding" across four inspections. The school was graded "Good" overall by Ofsted after an inspection on 22–23 January 2019.[3] Some of its policies include no offensive or abusive language and neat uniform.

Of the 2022-2023 cohort, 52% got a grade 5 or above in their English and Maths GCSE exams.[4] The most chosen subject of this cohort that is not one of the five compulsory subjects (Double Science, Maths, English Literature, English Language, and Spanish) was History, with 58.43% of the students choosing to study it.[5]

Gymnasium

The school's gymnasium is open to the public after school on weekends and holidays. This is part of Dean Trust Fitness and Leisure, which have sites at other schools in The Dean Trust. It offers various sorts of sports venues such as tennis courts, fitness suite, and a 3G astro pitch. A variety of parties are also offered outside of school hours, in partnership with Prime Dance.[6]

Schools On Site

There are three different school buildings on the site of Ashton On Mersey School. One building is the Believe Learning Institute, located on the north-western side of the site. In here are some classrooms for the main secondary school, as well as Ashton On Mersey SCITT. On the south-eastern side of the school, backing onto Sherbrook Close, is Ashton On Mersey Sixth Form, which offers both A-level and BTEC courses.
