Agnes Earl Lyall (February 25, 1908 - September 14, 2013[1]) was an American artist.[2] She helped found the American Abstract Artists in 1936.[3] Her work is included in the collections of the Whitney Museum of American Art,[2] the Metropolitan Museum of Art,[4] the Smithsonian American Art Museum,[5] the Brooklyn Museum,[6] the Yale University Art Gallery,[7] the Carnegie Museum of Art,[8] the National Gallery of Art[9] and the Museum of Modern Art, New York.[10]
Lyall graduated with a BA in Art from Smith College[11] in 1930, and MA in Art from Columbia University. She spent some time in Europe traveling and studying art and returned to New York City.
