  • 1 January:
    • Maldives has extended Hay'at Tahrir al-Sham as a terrorist organization, Travels to Syria were still banned in Maldives.[2]
    • Maldives-China Free Trade Agreement comes into effect.[3]
  • 2 January: Maldives bans Tobacco materials. This ban extends to tobacco rolling papers, filters, and handheld machines used for rolling cigarettes. [4]
  • 3 January: Malé experiences 140 millilitres of rain, causing flooding.[5]
