Off season

Defenseman Adrian Aucoin was named team captain.[1]

Regular season

The Blackhawks struggled on the power play during the regular season, finishing 30th overall in power-play goals scored, with 51, and 30th overall in power-play percentage, at 12.23% (51 for 417).[2]
