Manchester City 1946–47 football season
The 1946–47 season was Manchester City 's 45th season of competitive football and 13th season in the second division of English football.[ 1] In addition to the Second Division, the club competed in the FA Cup . Whilst top of the league, almost 70,000 fans packed Maine Road to watch City play second placed Burnley in a First Division promotion decider, therefore also being a big step towards the title for City. It is likely to be the highest ever attended match outside the top flight in English history.
