أودين أو أُوذِن (بالنرويجية القديمة: Óðinn)، كبير الآلهة في الميثولوجيا النوردية، وزعيم آلهة الآسر. يُدعى بأبي الآلهة ويشتق اسمه من كلمة تعني الحماسة، الغضب، والشعر. ككافة الآلهة النوردية، فإن اختصاصات أودين متعددة ومعقدة، فهو إله الحكمة والحرب والمعركة والموت، كما أنه من المتفق عليه كونه إلهًا للسحر، والتنبؤ، والشعر، والنصر، والصيد.

منشأ أودين

تدلى أودين من شجرة العالم لتسعة أيام معلقًا برمحه،[5] وتعلم هناك الأغنيات التسع القوية، والقصائد الثماني عشرة. وعند مياه ينبوع ميميسبرونر المُطَهِرة تخلى عن إحدى عينيه ليحصد حكمة العصور. يستطيع أودين حمل الموتى على الكلام ليسأل أكثرهم حكمة. ويصور جالسًا على عرشه في أسكارد يراقب العوالم التسعة جميعها، وينقل إليه الأخبار غرابان هما هوجين ومونين،[6] كما يجلس في فالهالا حيث يؤخذ المحاربون القتلى.

نهاية أودين

ينتهي أودين مقتولاً على يد الذئب فنرير ابن الإله لوكي في معركة نهاية العالم (راكناروك)، وينتقم له ولده فيدار من قاتله.[7]
