55ste Nasionale Konferensie van die African National Congress

Die 55ste Nasionale Konferensie van die African National Congress (ANC) het van 16 tot 20 Desember 2022 by die Johannesburg Expo Centre in Nasrec, Gauteng plaasgevind.[1][2] Die konferensie, waartydens die party se 87-lid Nasionale Uitvoerende Komitee verkies is, is bygewoon deur 4 426 stemgeregtigde afgevaardigdes,[3] insluitend die party se topamptenare – vir die eerste keer bekend as die Top Sewe, eerder as die Top Ses, nadat die konferensie die party se grondwet gewysig het om 'n tweede pos van adjunk-sekretaris-generaal in te stel. Afgevaardigdes het ook resolusies oor die party se bestuur en beleidsposisies aangeneem, met inagneming van die uitkomste van die ANC se 6de Nasionale Beleidskonferensie, wat aan die einde van Julie 2022 gehou is.[4]

Tydens die konferensie het Cyril Ramaphosa (die huidige president van Suid-Afrika) 'n uitdaging om die pos van ANC-president deur Zweli Mkhize afgeweer, en is hy herverkies as ANC-president. Ramaphosa het daarmee ook dié party se waarskynlike presidentskandidaat geword vir die Suid-Afrikaanse algemene verkiesing van 2024. Paul Mashatile is as sy adjunk verkies.
