Bestari, lambang Yayasan Berau Lestari

Yayasan Bestari atau lebih lengkap Yayasan Berau Lestari (Bestari) adalah—LSM lokal di Kabupaten Berau-- organisasi non pemerintah di Kabupaten Berau, Kalimantan Timur, bersifat nirlaba, independen, non partisan, sebagai wadah berkumpul bagi semua kalangan untuk mengakomodir aspirasi masyarakat khususnya pada pengelolaan sumber daya alam secara lestari, adil, dan mandiri.

Keberadaan Bestari dimaksudkan untuk dapat berpartisipasi dalam rangka pengelolaan SDA secara lestari di Kabupaten Berau dan untuk mewujudkan partisipasi langsung masyarakat dalam pembangunan di Kabupaten Berau.

Bestari berdiri dan berbadan hukum pada tanggal 25 Februari 2000 di Tanjung Redeb dengan akta Notaris – PPAT Sony Thio, S.H No. 15/2000, beralamatkan di Jl. SM. Aminuddin No. 1000 RT. 9, Tanjung Redeb, Kabupaten Berau, Kalimantan Timur.

Kegiatan Umum

  • Peningkatan pendidikan dan informasi untuk masyarakat;
  • Pengembangan usaha alternatif pengganti "Alat Tangkap Destruktif" dan pemanfaatan yang tidak lestari;
  • Pengembangan kegiatan pelestarian dan pemanfaatan (konservasi);
  • Pengembangan kebijakan lokal, pengembangan dan penguatan kapasitas organisasi masyarakat; serta
  • Pendampingan masyarakat.

Untuk melaksanakan kegiatan lembaga, dibentuk beberapa divisi yang berfokus pada bidang-bidang tertentu sesuai dengan kebutuhan lembaga dan kondisi pelaksanaan di lapangan. Divisi-divisi ini meliputi:

  1. Divisi pendidikan dan Informasi
  2. Divisi Advokasi dan Pendampingan Masyarakat
  3. Divisi Pengembangan Ekonomi Masyarakat.
