Wanita dalam Revolusi Korea Utara

Wanita meraih sejumlah reformasi sosial dan hukum tak terhitung pada Revolusi Korea Utara (1945–1950). Hukum yang dicetuskan oleh rezim Kim Il-sung resmi memberikan hak wanita yang ditolak pada masa masa penjajahan Jepang dan generasi-generasi sebelumnya. Wanita dapat masuk tempat kerja bersama dnegan pria dan meraih sejumlah hak — hak untuk pendidikan, hak kepemilikan dan pewarisan properti, hak untuk keterlibatan politik — agar wanita dapat masuk ranah publik. Berbagai organisasi wanita seperti Liga Wanita Demokratik Korea dibentuk untuk menghimpun hukum dan menunjang kebutuhan dari rezim. Korea Utara masih memegang nilai-nilai neo-Konfusian yang menjunjung ibu rumah tangga dan menambahkan tujuan baru pada keluarga inti.
