Trevor Carlin (lahir 13 Maret 1963) adalah seorang manajer dan mantan mekanik Formula 1 asal Inggris. Saat ini ia menjadi CEO dari Carlin Motorsport, sebuah tim Formula Junior yang turun di GP2 dan F3 Eropa.

Profil

Mekanik

Carlin memulai karier sebagai mekanik junior di PRS Racing Cars pada 1980. kemudian pada 1984 ia mulai menjadi manajer sekaligus mekanik saat menjadi storeman di Ralt, sebuah pabrikan mobil F3, F2, F3000, dan Formula Atlantik. Dan pada 1986 ia pindah ke AS, tepatnya ke Ralt USA di Los Angeles, California.

Manajer

Pada 1988 ia kembali lagi ke Inggris, menjadi manajer tim Bowman Racing. Dan pada 1989 dibawah asuhannya, tim Bowman menjuarai F3 Inggris dan Macau dengan pembalap David Brabham.

Pada 1993 ia hengkang ke West Surrey Racing F3 Team. Di 1995 ia merekrut Cristiano da Matta dan Marc Gene untuk memperkuat barisan pembalap. Namun diakhir tahun ia keluar dari tim tersebut

Carlin Motorsport

Awal 1996 ia mendirikan Carlin Motorsport bersama Marlin Stone. Kemudian mereka berdua mempromosikan sebuah ajang pit stop challenge untuk tim Williams F1.

Di 1997 ia mendirikan tim Carlin F3 dengan memakai mantan pegawai Bowman dan WSR yang ia rekrut. Tim ini kemudian bermarkas di Mizens Farm (kini menjadi McLaren Technology Centre). Pembalapnya adalah Henry Stanton.

Pada 1998 ia membawa anak baru, Jenson Button, untuk mengetes mobilnya di sirkuit Pembrey. Lantas ia menurunkan Narain Karthikeyan di F3 Inggris. Di akhir tahun ia terpilih menjadi team of the year oleh F3 Association.

Awal 2000 ia membawa masuk Takuma Sato sebagai pembalap. Di akhir musim posisi klasemen Sato adalah di P3. Di 2001 ia membawa Anthony Davidson ke dalam tim. Di akhir musim Sato keluar menjadi juara F3 Inggris, sementara Davidson ada di posisi runner up. Di musim 2002 ia merekrut James Courtney dan Alan van der Merwe. Dan pada musim 2003 Van der Merwe menjuarai F3 Inggris.

Di musim 2004 ia memperluas daerah jajahan dengan turun di ajang Formula BMW. Digosipkan akan masuk ke F1, namun tidak jadi.

Midland F1

September 2004 ia dikontrak oleh Alex Shnaider untuk memanage tim Midland F1. Ia lantas merekrut Tiago Monteiro dan Narain Karthikeyan pada musim 2005. Apesnya ia keluar di GP Spanyol dari tim setelah berkonflik dengan Colin Kolles. Ia kemudian memutuskan untuk kembali ke Carlin Motorsport.
