The Maid adalah film horor terbaru Netflix yang disutradarai oleh Lee Thongkham. Film asal Thailand itu dibintangi oleh Ploy Sornarin, Savika Chaiyadej, Theerapat Sajakul dan Kannaporn Puangtong.[1]

Sinopsis[2]

Sesosok arwah jahat menghantui kehidupan seorang asisten rumah tangga bernama Joy (Ploy Sornarin). Joy diterima bekerja sebagai asisten rumah tangga untuk Uma (Savika Chaiyadej), wanita bangsawan yang memiliki satu orang putri bernama Nid (Keetapat Pongrue). Pada hari pertamanya, tidak ada kesulitan berarti yang dirasakan Joy meski ia beberapa kali merasakan keanehan yang terjadi di sekitar rumah.

Kepala asisten rumah tangga, Ibu Wan (Natanee Sitthisaman), mengingatkan Joy agar selalu menjaga sikap dan tidak ikut campur urusan pribadi tuan dan nyonya rumah. Namun, sifat penasaran Joy membuatnya mengabaikan nasihat Ibu Wan. Malam harinya, Joy masuk ke ruang kerja Uma dan menemukan foto-foto lama di sana.

Dalam foto tersebut, Uma yang didampingi sang suami terlihat berpose dengan seorang asisten rumah tangga yang belum pernah Joy temui selama ia berada di rumah ini. Belum sempat menjawab pertanyaan yang berkecamuk di kepalanya, sesosok makhluk aneh dengan wajah terbakar menampakkan diri di hadapan Joy. Hantu itu mengenakan seragam biru, sama seperti dirinya.
