Teologi Afrika

Teologi Afrika adalah sebuah teologi yang lahir di Afrika yang merupakan hasil cara pandang orang-orang Afrika mengenai Allah berdasarkan kultur Afrika.[1] tokoh-tokoh dari teologi Afrika adalah J.K. Agbeti dari [[Ghana], Jesse N.K. Mugambi dari Kenya, John Mbiti dan Bolaji Idowu.[1] Bolaji Idowu menulis pokok pikirannya mengenai Allah dalam alam pikiran kultur Yoruba dalam Oldumare: God in Yoruba Belief yang diterbitkan pada tahun 1962.[1] Pada Tahun 1970, John Mbiti mempertajam konsep pemikiran mengenai perkataan Allah di dalam karya tulisnya yang berjudul Concepts of God in Africa.[1] J.K Agbeti dan Jesse N.K Mugambi memaparkan gagasan mereka tentang Allah menurut kultur Afrika di dalam sebuah karya tulis berjudul African Christian Theology pada tahun 1989.[1]

Di dalam sejarah perkembangan pemikiran Kristen di Afrika, Teologi Afrika banyak digunakan untuk mengidentifikasi perkataan Allah.[1] Teologi ini juga digunakan untuk melihat dan memahami alam Afrika dan kehadiran orang-orang Afrika di dunia.[1] Di dalam perkembangan yang lebih lanjut teologi Afrika dihunakan dalam diskursus-diskursus mengenai kekristenan di afrika.[1]

Salah satu teologi yang berkembang di Afrika adalah Teologi Pembebasan.[2] Teologi pembebasan menitik beratkan pokok pemikiran teologisnya pada narasi-narasi Alkitab terutama narasi sejarah pembebasan bangsa Israel dari perbudakan Mesir.[2] Teologi ini di anggapp tidak memadai dan dikeritik oleh teolog-teolog Afrika lainnya. Kritik ini melahirkan teologi rekonstruksi.[2] Teologi Rekonstruksi adalah teologi yang lahir berdasarkan kritik atas teologi pembebasan dan inkulturasi.[2] Pada tahun 1960-an, Tologi pembebasan di Afrika telah didominasi oleh pemikiran teologis yang terlampau progresif tanpa mempertimbangkan pokok-poko yang lebih mendetil.[2]
