Teluk Hughes

Pantai Danco.

Hughes Bay adalah sebuah teluk yanga terletak di antara Tanjung Sterneck dan Tanjung Murray, di sebelah pantai barat sepanjang Semenanjung Antartika.[1] Lebar pantai terbentang seluas 42 kilometer (26 mil) dari selatan Semenanjung Chavdar hingga utara Semenanjung Pefaur (Ventimiglia), termasuk Pantai Danco di sisi barat yang terletak di Daratan Graham 20 kilometer (12 mil).

Nama teluk ini telah muncul pada peta lebih dari 100 tahun untuk mengenang Edward Hughes ketika melintasi teluk ini dalam perburuan ikan paus dari sebuah perusahaan Samuel Enderby & Sons pada tahun 1824-1825.[1][2]

Dalam beberapa kemungkinan teluk ini dijadikan tempat pendaratan pertama oleh John Davis dengan menggunakan kapal Cecillia.[3]
