Tatung

Tatung dalam bahasa Hakka adalah orang yang dirasuki roh dewa atau leluhur. Dimana raga atau tubuh orang tersebut dijadikan alat komunikasi atau perantara antara roh leluhur atau dewa tersebut. Dengan menggunakan Mantra dan Mudra tertentu roh dewa dipanggil ke altar kemudian akan memasuki raga orang tersebut.[1]

Para Dewa atau roh leluhur biasa dipanggil dengan kepentingan tertentu, misalnya untuk melakukan kegiatan pengobatan atau meminta nasihat yang dipandang perlu. Kebanyakan para roh dewa dipanggil untuk kegiatan yang berhubungan kepercayaan Taoisme, antara lain pengobatan, pengusiran roh jahat, pembuatan Hu,dan lain-lain. Setelah kegiatan yang dilakukan selesai, roh akan meninggalkan tubuh orang tersebut.

Di Tiongkok, tradisi tatung sudah punah, sementara daerah-daerah di Indonesia yang masih memiliki tradisi ini adalah Kalimantan Barat dan Bangka Belitung.[2]
