Tari Gumatere

Tari Gumatere atau Gomatere merupakan salah satu tari tradisional masyarakat Morotai, Maluku Utara. Tarian ini bertujuan untuk meminta petunjuk terhadap persoalan yang sedang terjadi, baik itu mengenai kehidupan maupun kejadian alam. Pertunjukan tarian tradisional Maluku Utara ini biasanya akan dimainkan oleh sekitar 13-30 orang penari pria dan wanita. Penari pria memakai ngana-ngana sebagai propertinya, sedangkan penari perempuannya memakai kipas. Tari gumatere ini memiliki keunikan tersendiri yaitu salah satu penari akan menggunakan kain berwarna kuning, serta sesajen seperti bara dan menyan untuk melakukan ritual meminta petunjuk atas suatu kejadian.[1]

Kostum

Warna kostum tidak ditentukan namun setiap warna kostum yang dikenakan pemain akan merepresentasikan situsi ungkapan syukur apa yang dinaikan oleh para penari tarian Gumatere, sehingga dalam tarian ini penentuan warna kostum sangat penting karena melalui warna masyarakat akan memahami makna ungkapan syukur apa yang akan dinaikan.[2]
