Stortinget yang secara harfiah berarti "majelis besar" adalah sebuah lembaga legislatif tertinggi di Norwegia, yang telah ada sejak tahun 1814 sesuai dengan amanat Konstitusi Norwegia. Terletak di ibu kota negara, yakni Oslo, Stortinget merupakan parlemen unikameral yang memiliki 169 anggota, dan dipilih setiap empat tahun berdasarkan sistem pemilihan perwakilan proporsional daftar partai di sembilan belas daerah pemilihan. Seorang anggota Stortinget dikenal di Norwegia sebagai stortingsrepresentant, secara harfiah berarti "perwakilan Storting".[1]
Stortinget dipimpin oleh seorang presiden dan, sejak tahun 2009, dibantu oleh lima wakil presiden dan mereka disebut presidium. Para anggota Stortinget ditempatkan ke dalam dua belas komite tetap, serta empat komite prosedural.
Pada tahun 2009, dua bagian yang terdapat di dalam Stortinget, yakni Odelstinget dan Lagtinget dibubarkan.
Setelah pemilu 2017, terdapat sembilan partai yang memiliki wakil di parlemen, di antaranya adalah Partai Buruh (49 perwakilan), Partai Konservatif (45), Partai Progres (27), Partai Tengah (19), Partai Demokrat Kristen (8), Partai Liberal (8), Partai Kiri Sosialis (11), Partai Hijau (1), dan Partai Merah (1). Sejak 2018, Tone Wilhelmsen Trøen menjadi Presiden Stortinget.
