Stasiun Cikajang (CKG) merupakan stasiun kereta api nonaktif yang terletak di Cikajang, Cikajang, Garut. Dengan letaknya pada ketinggian +1.246 m (4.088 ft), stasiun yang termasuk dalam Wilayah Penjagaan Aset II Bandung ini menjadi stasiun kereta api yang letaknya paling tinggi di Indonesia dan di Asia tenggara.[4]

Sejarah

Stasiun ini dibangun bersamaan dengan pembangunan lintas Garut–Cikajang, sebagai hasil dari percobaan jalur kereta api ekstrem lintas pegunungan serta menjaring pusat perekonomian ketiga di Garut, yaitu daerah Cikajang. Jalur ini dibuka pada tanggal 1 Agustus 1930.[5]

Jalur kereta api Garut-Cikajang dibuka dengan cukup meriah. Jalur dengan panjang 23 km (14 mi) itu dibuka dengan diiringi penampilan kesenian Sunda berupa gamelan dan tayub. Upacara ini dihadiri oleh perwakilan dari Gouvernement Bedrijven Bandung, Residen Priangan Timur, dan Bupati Garut. dan mampu menarik perhatian warga sekitar yang awalnya tidak tertarik dengan apa yang ditampilkan. Antusiasme warga untuk menghadiri upacara pembukaan tersebut bahkan mampu mengosongkan Pasar Cikajang hari itu[6].

Saat masih aktif hingga tahun 1980-an, stasiun ini selalu ramai dikunjungi oleh pengguna jasa angkutan yang hendak bepergian dengan kereta api hingga akhirnya ditutup pada tahun 1982 karena sarana yang sudah tua dan kalah bersaing dengan mobil pribadi maupun angkutan umum. Spot di jalur ini sebenarnya sangat indah, sehingga menarik perhatian para railfans dari luar negeri untuk menyaksikan aksi lokomotif uap di jalur ini.

Kini bangunan stasiun sudah tak lagi dipergunakan dan atap stasiun pun sudah tidak ada lagi dikarenakan terbakar, dan seiring dengan berjalannya waktu.

Insiden

Pada tanggal 2 Agustus 1952, terjadi baku tembak di depan halaman Stasiun Cikajang. Akibatnya, sebuah rumah dinas milik Djawatan Kereta Api serta kantor polisi terbakar, mesin lokomotif tertembak peluru, pintu dan jendela stasiun rusak, harta benda milik kepala stasiun dan kondektur dirampok, dan seorang anggota polisi tertembak. Pelakunya diyakini merupakan gerombolan yang terafiliasi dengan DI/TII.[7]
