Sinematografer

Sinematografer/Cinematographer, kadang juga ditulis sebagai DoP atau DP (Director of Photography) adalah seseorang yang mengambil foto dengan kamera film (seni dan ilmu yang mempelajari hal ini dikenal sebagai sinematografi). Gelar ini umumnya setara dengan direktur fotografi, digunakan untuk menunjuk kepada seorang yang berperan atas kru kamera dan pencahayaan pada sebuah film, yang bertanggung jawab untuk mendapatkan nilai artistik dan teknis pada pengambilan gambar. Istilah sinematographer telah menjadi sebuah titik pendirian pada saat ini, beberapa profesional bersikeras bahwa istilah ini hanya berlaku apabila direktur fotografi dan operator kamera adalah masih orang yang sama, meskipun hal ini masih jauh secara keseluruhan dalam pembuatan film. Bagi sebagian besar, sinematographer dan direktur fotografi adalah sebuah istilah yang dapat diganti-ganti. Terkadang bagaimanapun pula, istilah direktur fotografi dapat merujuk kepada orang yang mengawasi produksi perekaman fotografi. Misalnya, Larry Boelens dikreditkan dalam Nutcraker karya Mikhail Baryshnikov adalah sebagai "direktur fotografi", meskipun produksinya telah diambil pada video.
