Sikatan adalah sebutan burung yang mayoritas masuk ke dalam genus Ficedula , yaitu genus burung penangkap serangga Dunia Lama . Genus ini adalah yang terbesar dalam familinya, berisi sekitar tiga puluh spesies. Mereka terkadang dimasukkan ke dalam genus Muscicapa . Genus ini terdapat di Eropa, Asia dan Afrika. Beberapa spesies bermigrasi tinggi, sedangkan spesies lainnya menetap.

Keterangan

Burung sikatan dalam genus Ficedula biasanya berukuran kecil dengan tubuh ramping dan kepala bulat. Dalam banyak kasus, bulu mereka dimorfik secara seksual, dengan jantan berwarna cerah atau mencolok dan betina lebih kusam atau kusam.[2]
